I thought my mom understood my obsession with knives, but apparently she doesn't.

c) This has some use, because I sharpen all the kitchen knives.
BTW, TheMightyGoat -- why not to try some emphasize on point "c"?

I've actually tried that before, but her kitchen knives are so crappy that the metal wouldn't get any sharper no matter how long I spent on them. I've thought about buying her a good set, though.

Try it. This will definitly turn strange obsession to suspicious objectes into a household help.

My parents never really had a problem with me liking knives or guns. They bought me a shotgun and a rifle when I was 12 and 14. They started buying knives for me and letting me ask for them as gifts when I was 5-6 years old. Where they started freaking out, is the prices of custom knives. They know how much many of my knives are worth. I think it's more shock then anything. I finally realized my dad was beginning to be totally cool with it last year when I returned from Blade. Mom asked "well how much did those cost." Dad said "don't ask. you really don't want to know. It's better not knowing."

Luckily my mother doesn't seem to mind, my problem is she tries to surprise me with knife gifts when she travels...;) boy are they nice...

But my wife did worry some so I went to my doctor, same one that Rodney Dangerfield visits I think and he gave me a prescription, here's a copy so you guys can show your wife it's ok...

Just tell your mom that you are done with knives and now want to collect tattoos. ;)

I guess I'm kinda lucky that at least of all the things that my mom nags me about, she had learn that I like collecting knives, and I like using knives, and that won't change.
