• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I'm still smiling and reflecting on my site visit while listening to LS - "Simple Man". :)

Yeah, I sent my S-2001 in for a new kydex sheath and decided to stop by since I was in the area. I walked up to the shop and talked with a guy who was busy packing up the finished knives for shipment (maybe yours!). I described my knife - AND HE KNEW MY NAME!

Next, I wait for this guy to get off the phone so I can ask him to show me a sample of the two knives I can't decide between. It turns out to be Duane (D-9) Dwyer. He's been busy aboard Campen for a good part of the day (its Friday afternoon now) and he still takes the time to show me not only the blades I want to see BUT several others including D-9's with different G-10 patterns like on the TAD website. They look even better in person!!!

All the while he is going over the distinct qualities of each of the different metals they use. So, now I go back in and order my next blade from Strider AND pick up my S-2001 in its new sheath!

Duane - Thanks! When I pick up #2 in a few months I will be placing an order for a new boot knife (#3). Your CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ****-HOT and I will be a walking advertisement for your knives...

;)

(P.S. Good luck on the shooting)

You Lucky son of a b!tch. Sounds like a dream come true for you. Wish something like that would happen to me once in a while.

Next time you take a little trip maybe you could take a camera to document the event. I would like to see a little more of the mastery in progress myself... can't get there since I'm kind of stuck here in Louisiana.

So whats #2 going to be? Is it that G-10 D-9?

Scott

It is pretty humble beginnings for our Strider knives. They got machines and a few free roaming workers (no prisoners that I could see). :D

If I had AluminumOvercas' eye for photography I'd give it a try. The detail of the D-9 really begs for a good photographer (AO) who can lift the detail and show the texture and grain of the metal and handles of Strider knives.

I didn't pick up a D-9, I got the other Dwyer custom. Since I already have a big blade (S-2001) I've got to complete my first set of "large - med - boot - folder" Striders before I start the next rotation. Hopefully, D-9 or the next generation will be around.

;)
