I have come to the realization that when I want a hard use knife I turn to one of my fixed blades for a few reasons. One they are stronger, two cleaning is easier, three they are more ergo for the hand (at least mine are) So lets see some pics of some Striders and or ZTs, Hinderers, etc. being used hard. There is an Um review over in the CRK forum I think that the OP puts the Um to work doing some things I prob would not do every day with the Um, so lets see some pics of your "Hard Use Folder" being used hard!

I'm surprised that the S30V will even hold up to the carbides present in the home made bread.

Last loaf of bread I made was certainly pretty tough... started to wonder whether I should take it down to the CNC shop and have some blades cut from it. ;)

This is about the hardest thing I have done with a folder and some scraping, light batoning etc. It has held up great, I do feel hard use is a personal preference. anything harder then that I would use the appropriate tool or fixed blade.

Is that covered under warranty, or is that considered "abuse"?

Depends on whether it's whole grain or not. :)

My folders don't get any rougher use than cutting thick cardboard. I enjoy using my sheath knives too much to leave much hard work for my folders.

Where is the serrated bread knife, you used to cut that up?

There is no way, the thick bladed Strider cut that type of bread without mushing it, I have owned Striders(yes I bought into the hype also) and they don't cut cardboard well, let alone soft bread.
