i want a bombproof edc folder

In my limited experience I'd say tke a look at the HK14210. It's very similar to the mini grips, but with G10 scales. The way it is laid out, allows me a four finger grip, unlike the Mini grip, where I could only get a 3 finger grip. Also it has full ss liners which give it a nice robust and solid feel, and open construction for easy cleaning. I had to trade mine a while back to score a small Sebe, but I just worked out a trade and should have another enroute next week
I also just got Mini Manix to replace my para military, also traded for my Sebe, and this is no small knife. I thought the blade would be slightly smaller than the Para, and while the cutting length is shorter, the blade depth is large. I was trying to keep my blade lengths to a more sheeple friendly 3", but I don't think the mini manix is very sheeple friendly due too the blade profile. I'm not sure if the manix is going to fit in my collection and I may go back to a para military for the slimmer blade profile. The handle ergo's of the Mini Manix are fantastic, and I do love the back lock I just wish the blade had a slimmer profile.

Check out the Emerson CQC12. Its built like a tank. It a frame lock like the Sng. Emerson gets good reviews for his handles and knives in general from what I see on the forum. I think the CQC 12 is about $100 less then the SNG.

good luck

i think im just going to try a strider out... if i could find one for a good price now that would be good... seems most stores are sold out even at full retail

I just got my first Strider last week and so far I love it. I ordered a PT-CC from Plaza Cutlery.

This thing is tops! Comparing it to my other similar sized folders, it is quickly becoming my favorite in it's size category (Bradley Alias II, small Sebenza, Buck Mayo Wiamea, mini Grip, Delica, you get the point).

For it's small size it has a great blade shape and decent size. Most importantly to me is how comfortable it is and how dead secure it feels in my hand.

The reason I had held off on Strider's so long is that I just didn't like the uber-tactical looks and they appeared to be uncomfortable for my medium small hands. The CC model of the PT has rounded edges and the G10 is smooth, but the choil and handle shape gives it plenty to grip onto. It doesn't come with a clip, but there is a hole for a lanyard.

Big thumbs up for the PT-CC from this guy!

I also like the Benchmade mini Skirmish. Great Ti framelock for the $$ and might be just the size you're looking for.

HK 14205, I second that it's my hard work day knife. I'm a bit on the tactical type also and it is a great fit for me...I've been wanting a Strider PT for some time now and this knife has prolonged that.

Why if you find the Delica small for you (and no other flaw mentioned) do you say "forget that" to the Endura? Maybe it sacrifices too much "bomproofness" to keep it slim and light? But that's a factor for an EDC. I would check Kershaw's ZT kine--I think there are designs that don't have assisted-open that would be legal for you.

Spend a little more money and buy a Sebenza or other top quality folder. If you really like it, getting the best the first time will save you money in the long run. The Sebenza is probably the best you can buy at this point. I've had or currently have most of the others that people here usually compare to CRK. Nothing is built as fine as the Sebbie, including most customs that I've owned. They are a VERY consistent product.
