I want a Damascus Spydie, which one?

I just recently got the Ti/Damascus Delica and love it. The one with 'plain' Ti scales. It is great and not too flashy yet still wonderful. I plan on getting the matching Endura at some point.

My other Damscus is a red jig bone Damascus Endura. That thing is just all kinds of right, but not pocket clip is hard with such a big knife.

I love my Delica , but the action was very course and gritty feeling when I first got it , some cleaning and a few days use and it smoothed out beautifully . I have just got a ZDP Delica though to use at work , the Titanium scales scratch up very easily and I found myself babying it . It is now my Good - Going out knife .

Did your Endura have one phosphor bronze and one nylon washer? I have a large Lum Chinese that does and it's the only knife I've ever seen like that.

The action on my blue nishjin/damascus Stretch is great. I can even flick it open with only slight wrist action, which hasn't been typical of lockback knives for me. It's the only damascus Spydie I have though, so I don't know if my experience or yours is the norm.
First a clarification... I said Endura in my original post but meant to say Delica. not sure how I screwed that up but everything else still applies.

Glad to hear the blue nishjin/damascus Stretch is so easy. I assumed all the Damascus were like mine but if that isn't the case, I may need to get one of those some day.
Mine only had one washer, period. It was definitely weird. The knife became very gritty so I decided to take it apart, clean, lube and hope for the best. Once I got it apart, I noticed it only had one washer and that one washer was a little chewed up. I wrote to Spyderco about it and they were friendly, even sent me some washers but it hasn't helped much. It isn't gritty anymore but it is VERY stiff. Even more so than when it was brand new.
I have considered contacting them about it and seeing what they would say, even though I took it apart but I haven't yet. This was my first Spyderco and I was unaware that disassembling would void my warranty until after all this so I guess lesson-learned. I do wish they were more clear about the warranty on the paperwork though. It does say damage from disassembling will void the warranty but from what I understand it is totally voided if you take it apart. I probably would have contacted them first if I had known that.

I have a lead on a NIB Phoenix C114WMP. It's not cheap but then again I don't know what they go for. It's on a gun forum classifieds if you haven't seen it I can give you the info

I am currently waiting for my modded Ti Damascus Delica to be mailed back to me.. I think it is one of the perfect EDC knife from Spyderco...

Haha, legit trade off, IMO. :D
I ended up changing mine to a silver clip from a Lava... the black was alright, but silver flows better.
You ever see that older thread somewhere on here where a guy added jimping to his Kuhkri? I've been lightly considering having that done.

Haven't seen the jimping. I had that done to a Skyline way back when, won't be doing that to this knife though. I'm still playing with clip options. I like the black with yellow bug actually, but I like a deep carry clip and the stock clip makes me appreciate the hour glass clip a lot. I have a Casey Lynch shorty clip that may get drilled out to fit this hole pattern. Right now I have a Ti clip on it that it's OK, but not great. Mind snapping a pic of it with the Lava clip? That's shorter overall, hourglass, and the knife rides deeper, doesn't it?

That Skyline, the guy who did it, did a nice job.

Maybe we should start a Kuhkri thread? :p

Edit; I just started a separate thread for the Kuhkri so we can discuss there and hopefully keep this one more directed at that beautiful DAMASCUS. :D
