I want a heavy folding knife.

I don't like it when knives are to light weight, so no I'm looking for a knife that has some weight on it. it doesn't have to be a full metal construction, but I would like more than just some thin steel liners with plastic on the outside.

I want a knife with a lock that can be used with one hand. so no lockbacks.

I would like it to be american made, but it can be from other countries as long as it isn't china.

the price can be anything between 50 and 200.

I hope you can recommend me something.

I would like a knife that is about the same size as a sog flash 2, benchmade barrage or spyderco manix 2.

What you need is a Buck 277 Tank.

As already mentioned; Benchmade 275 Adamas, and the ZT0200, are two heavy duty knives I've had some time with, especially the ZT0200. Though you would have to search high and low to find one, the ZT0500 MUDD is a great knife. All these knives are built heavy with the first two weighing in at 7.7 ounces, have thick steel liners ( .080" ), and blades are thick ( .157"-.160" ). The ZT0500 is 6.8 ounces, .157" thick blade, and frame is constructed of 7075 aluminum alloy which is the strongest aluminum alloy there is.

Another heavy, and heavy-duty, knife I've had a little time with now is the FOX/Citadel Deimos made in Maniago, Italy, the cutlery capital of Italy! Same thick blade stock as the above, a blade length of 4.53", with .060" thick stainless steel liners, and a weight of 6.6 ounces.

There is quite a number of this type folder to be had as the popularity of this genre has grown over the past few years. Don't discount the China made folders as Boker Plus has several models of H-D folders made there that seem to have a solid rep as being well built.

ZT 0350 Is Smaller Than The 0200 And Such But Still A Nice Hefty Folder.
ZT 0200 Is Not Speed Safe Assisted And Is Amazing, Thick, Heavy, But Awesome In The Pocket Too!
ZT 0300/0301 - Speed Safe, Huge, Titanium Frame Lock, Thick As Hell, It's a Beast, And You Can Get A Blem From Kershawguy For Only $175! That's a Steal.
ZT 0550 - Hinderer Collab, Beautiful, 8" Overall, Heavy Duty, Titanium Framelock, And $200 Or Less.
Spyderco Manix 2 - Really Surprised This Hasn't Been Mentioned Yet! - Big Heavy Duty Awesome Folder.
Benchmade 275 Adamas - Great Knife.
Benchmade Bone Collector - Large - This Is Just A Great Knife.

But I Would Probably Go With One Of The ZT's.

a dealer in my country has buck 271 and 275 available.

do you think those would match my needs?

If you mean the Alpha Hunter ( 277) versus the Alpha Dorado (271) ... the 277 is a much more substantial knife compared to the 271.

The only thing I don't like about either one is the thin liner lock, but the 277 is a beautiful knife and if you're not put off by the lock then you'd like it. It looks like a much more expensive knife than it is and the action is very smooth. I sold my 271 , but still have the 277.

I think I'm going to get a buck alpha hunter, or something like it. I'm a bit confused if there is a series of buck knives called alpha hunter, or just one knife.

I watched a video review of one, and it looks like the handles are partially skeletonized. I don't like such holes where dust and shit can end up. also the linerlock looks very thin, but I'm sure it'll do it's job.

There's a few different Alpha Hunters ( different blade steels / shapes , scales , fixed/folder), the one in 555's picture is the 277 folder with rosewood scales.

Those might be discontinued, but they're around on the web.

The one I recommended ( Buck CSAR-T) is like the Alpha on steroids, I have both.....

Check out Lionsteel Sr-1 Ti. One piece titanium handle. One comfortable trustworthy knife. Not too defense oriented though.

Three Sisters Forge Beast is a pretty hefty knife IMO. Its a little over $200 if you can find it used but well worth it. Its has full titanium liners and is a frame lock with a CPM s35 CM blade. I love mine to death and carry it everywhere.

+1 for Three Sisters Forge

I'm guessing you are not in the USA. Are you planning to order the knife you go with, or are you going to buy from the local dealer? If ordering online I would also like to mention the Ontario Hossom Retribution 1 as a possibility. It may have already been mentioned, but I just throw it back out there. It is a seriously large knife. It has a 4.5" long X .200" thick N690Co blade that is a very sharp knife out of the box. The liners are thick slabs of titanium at .100" or thicker. I will have to go back and remeasure as it seems they were right at .110" thick. Handle scales are green micarta. No pocket clip, but it comes with a nice sheath that has a nice thickness to it, not a paper thin one.

Anyway, I wanted to mention/remention this knife.

Like ty_higg says, "I love my 275 adamas." I love mine also! A nice solid axis lock from Benchmade that seems to have really gathered a fond following.

Btw, the Retribution can be had for around $150, even lower if you look around. The 275 can be found for around $125, and is a great deal of knife at the price. It's why I have two, and #3 on order!
