Wait...here's an idea...email Yangdu and place an order for a first! Yeah...that's it...all you eager beavers email Yangdu for nice new shiney ones.

(What the heck...if the kamis aren't busy trying to make first qualities for some lucky folks, how can the rest of us poor slobs ever hope for seconds in the DOTD?)

You remend me of the cartoon of the two vultures sitting on a fence. One says to the other, "To hell with waiting, I am gonna go kill something!"

Will email Yangdu. I am no earthly good at waiting. But will ask her for a bunch of them so we can ALL get one! That is the Mahayana way!
 
I've got a feeling that once Yangdu gets a good supply of these, she ain't going to have a good supply for long. I'm determined to keep the one I've got in "mint" condition, but can't wait to buy another one to "Sargify". That one's handle will get the most elaborate carving job I can put on it, and will be embellished with decorative brass pins, et cetera. The knives, as is, are way up on the cool scale, but I can't wait to see how folks go about personalizing theirs.
It will also get a wet molded, single seam scabbard like the two in the attached pics. One is from Sheffield, England, and the other is one I made for one of my old homemade "utility sgian dubhs".
