Hi guys!
I am in a need for a large light weight folder. The little voices in my head are screaming "MILITARY!" but I have yet to see really good photos of the knife in use. Excuse my ignorance if their have been threads about this in the past.

So guys help out a fellow knife knut and get pics of your Military's flowing!

Thanks ahead of time!

If you want a large knife that feels like a small knife in your pants and is very comfortable to carry then the Military is for you, If you want a knife with several steel choices, CPM D2, S30V, and BG-42 and several slab options then the Military is for you. If you want a knife to be a great working knife but able to perform a self defense role if the need comes then the Military is for you.

This is my story, at one time in my life I was on the search for a good EDC folder, I set down and asked myself what I wanted out of the knife. 1. Blade of at least 4" with a big handle because I have big hands.2. A good quality steel 3. Big but easy on the pants pocket( I never thought I could have both ), 4. A large thumb hole, because I am a little leary of those little thumb studs. 5. Able to be great work knife but also able to be used in the self defense role if all fails. Then as time went on I found the Military and will tell you it is the best knife I have ever owned and I have said it here and I will say it again, If there can be only one pocket folding knife for me it would be the Military. I currently have the CF BG-42 (probably my favorite) but I also have the CPM D2 model, I had a S30V but gave it to soldier in my last unit, so I will replace that one with another S30V soon.

Well good luck on your quest

I'm on my 2nd Millie as an EDC. I've had one as my primary EDC (along with a Strider SnG, an Emerson Commander, and now a BM Dejavoo in case you want to know what kind of company it keeps) for at least 4 years. It's a super knife- cuts like a champ & very light for its size. You won't be sorry.

There are better pics than mine in the Spyderco Picture thread...

Thanks for the advice guys! I will check out the picture thread in much more detail!

GET ONE--- NOW!! That is an order, 3M! I think it's Spyderco's best folder.

now that the endura's in zdp189, i'd go with that first. however, if you get the d-2 mili and you don't like it, i'll buy it from you. now you have nothing to lose, so go get it.

i have a feeling i still won't have a d-2 mili when this is over.

I have two of them. They really are great knives, hardly know you're carrying one, light and thin.

you don't need us to convince you, just go to a brick&mortar and hold a millie for a few seconds........

You will buy a military. . .

I have the CF/BG42 Military and it is a great knife, and my EDC.

Yes master....

After looking at more pics and finding the time to handle one (regular G-10) I am definately getting this knife! Thanks for all your help!

Stop thinking about it. Go and get one NOW. You will not be dissapointed. I carry one around the house for everything from food prep to out door stuff.

I would carry it everywhere else if we did not have stupid laws written up by pencil heads who must justify their existance.

There you go - Endorsement and rant in one post :D

BTW, I carry a Viele 2 when ever I leave the house. Best little knife ever made.

I just picked up the CF military. You should definately give the military a try. As my first spyderco it has a great feel, sharp sharp sharp, and makes me want to try out a couple more.

I've EDC'd a CPM D-2 Military for two months now. I try to put other things in my pocket, but the Military just keeps finding it's way back.
Most other knives feel kind of awkward now.

If you like to spoil yourself by buying big lightweight knives, I'm not sure I'd reccommend a Military to you.
The reason being that the Military is such a good knife it may very well be the last one you'll ever need. ;)
