I want a Rat 1 in ZDP-189 or S110V

Not like a rat's shape but the kershaw speedform 2 is a simple sleek design and has elmax steel, if you want a simple knife with premium steel thats my shot at your post.

I have a couple of RAT-1's and RAT-2 and Zancudo. Nice folders. For the money, they're great. And I suspect that D2 would be a good thing and would sell, if feasible.

Not at all. It's low end which means budget everything.
What if you like the so-called 'low end' design and don't want to change it at all, just a specific material used in its manufacturing? Nothing wrong at all with liking the way the RAT 1 feels in the hand, the blade shape, the lock and the overall look. That leaves the scales & blade steel left for possible upgrades.

Some people criticize the new CF S30V Skylines because it keeps the 'low end' design and with material upgrades turns it into a $100 knife. This is exactly what the OP is asking for. Sure he (like many others) maybe doesn't realize the logistics involved with using native & non-native steels. Thankfully you guys chime in and help to explain why the use of certain steels will be highly unlikely and why others are a more viable option.
