I want an Emerson, BUT. . .

ive cut vegetables ,skinned animals , removed those pesky hang nails and all with a cqc8 . i keep mine SHARP though and thus verily it cuts what ever i want .

Yup, yup. Get a V grind Emerson. May I recommend a 7A? Perfect size, utilitarian blade shape, handle grips well in any position. And you get the joy that can only be had from holding perfection in your hand.

Was that a bit too much? Sorry.

its been my experience that the semi "V" grind EKI's dont really perform any better than the std CG variants, if ya want a real "V" grind the only one that comes close is the '12. they are not really a std "V" grind (like a spyderco delica) irregardless of what EKI says they are (to me anyway), not that they are bad, mind ya, just not really what i like to call a "V" grind. the 7A (and the specwar which has a similar blade) are for me the most difficult EKI's th sharpen for some reason, and i can do ok sharpening stuff.

i used my SOCFK tanto for 2 yrs for all kinds of utilty stuff and it did fine.
