I want an H.I. Kerambit

I think everyone has forgotten there is a very handy thing known as the Want To Buy forum.
That's a great place to start. Good Luck!

yes...but folks here rarely check over there....but 'tis a good suggestion, yes.

I doubt I'm really going out on a limb to say this, but...

EVERYBODY HERE SHOULD OWN AN H.I. KERAMBIT.

Period. No ifs, ands or buts.....you NEED one.

There, I said it. :p

Seriously, it is one of my favorite H.I. offerings. Mine (shown in the other thread) has a handle made of Arizona Desert Ironwood - some slabs I sent over to have it handled in. Like the first-run Passaround Pen Knife...it is a keeper!

Guys I have tried that "wanted to sell" thingy and no dice...Not one single hit for selling an HI Kerambit

I agree Dan, everyone should own 1...Some of us came late to the party though:D

Man, I'm lucky...I got the last one offered, and it was in antler. It even sat around over the weekend...AND it came with a stand

wanna trade??? I got 10 oz leather belts!!!...lol

and you could have it all
my Empire of Dirt!
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

T.Reznor/J. Cash "hurt"

The other alternative is to email Yangdu and get on the list.

I emailed her yesterday requesting one with a Neem or Satisal handle.

Yes, Yangdu has a list for the kerambit, and you all know she will come through for us  :D :D

Has anyone seen anyone else beside Kumar make a kerambit?? I bet bura made the first model, but every 'bit i've seen offered has been a Kumar to the best of my knowledge. This makes sense as Kumar is very good at making "sexy" blades. The the cheif reason I want one of his AK bowies:)
Matter of fact, i might have to post up a "want to buy" for just such a thing.
Jake

After the holidays I plan to go gold, and will be selling a lot of items which will include HI karambits....and you should take a look at the new sheath Dan made for me if you have a karambit you should think about talking to dan

That was a really nice Kerambit Norm! :D
Seems like Jim had a kydex scabbard made for it didn't he, I can't recall whether the knife maker made it or someone else do you?
I just recall it was a damned nice rig and very well refined!!!!

I think she (I believe it was a she) made the whole rig for him Yvsa. It wasn't cheap, but then again she was making a new knife model from scratch with some modern steels. Looked parkerized to me but I can't recall if it was now. Micarta scales I think. The kydex scabbard was a huge improvement, because he could grasp the knife correctly, index finger thru the hole, and pull the whole thing out easily, and then "reholster" it one handed. It was well thought out work. I don't know if Jim came up with the scabbard design or the knifemaker did, but it was a damned good one. Of course he used the HI knife as the template and made several improvements.

Jim was nice enough to give me the name of the knifemaker in Prescott Valley AZ. If anyone is interested PM or email me.

Norm you are exactly right! I had forgotten that it was a lady that had made the knife.:o
There are some dayumed good lady knife makers out there these days!!!!
There was a lady at a knife show in Little Rock a few years back that did Scagel replicas, real nice work and unfortunately out of my price range.:(
I'd really like one of the Kermabits that made Jim's but she is probably out of my price range too.

Nope I don't NEED a kerambit even I live in the back alley of some asian country. ;) :D

But that blade does look so cool ! :)
