i want strider opinions!!!

Depends upon you anticipated usage. I have all execept the SNG and I have a Buck Strider Military which is about the same size. I rotate my carry based on my usage. The PT is great for everyday stuff, the SNG size also, the GB and AR for when the going is going to get rough. The SMF is top notch. My most recent Strider the RCC is the one I use most often. Im a real fan of the recurved blade and the thing fits my hand so well. \
Think about your usage and decided based on that. Strider service is great and any Strider should last you a life time.

Got a Coyote Brown SnG at BLADE 06. It is now my EDC folder outside of work. Only reason I don't carry it at work is it is too heavy for scrubs.

Good stout knives with good customer service.

It has been my experience that LEOs don't like it when your knife is 'meaner' than theirs. ---a word to the wise.

I guess my brother-in-law would be pretty cool about it then -- I made sure he's got the meanest knives around! :D

I have the SnG, SmF, and Ar. There is only one drawback to the Ar, it is a very large knife. Just too big for me to edc in an around the town mode. When traveling to the country or woods the Ar is always one of the first to go with me. The SnG and SmF are more suited to around the town use and every bit as tough as the Ar. Which ever Strider you decide to puchase you will not be disappointed. They are great knives in every way. And if you decide the Ar is too big later you will be able to sell it for almost all of what you paid for it. Good Luck with what ever you decide on.

Buy one. But I would suggest a recurve.

The sharpening choil...is annoying on most drop point models. But otherwise I've found Striders to be pretty much perfect FOR MY NEEDS.

Solution? Recurves. They trap the media to be cut in the concave section (by that I mean the closest part to the choil of a recurve) and therefor eliminate the annoyances of the choil catching the edge of whatever you're cutting.

But that's just me. Maybe some people like the choils.

Luckily Strider offers tons of recurves, and not just expensive customs. A recurve SMF would be an awesome EDC. Too bad a recurve SnG would have to be a custom.

If they're too thick-edged for your needs, thin them out. But basically, if you cut tags from your new clotches, and open enveloppes all day, you won't appreciate what they offer. This is why many people call them overpriced knives that can't touch cheaper knives for slicing abilities. But for those of us who like to "do more" with knives, we know they kick butt.

EDIT: An Rc or RCC would make great EDC's in terms of blade shape and cutting geometry as well, but the RCC (haven't handled one, and won't pretend I have) while solid I'm sure, just aren't the framelocks that help make Striders Striders.
