I want to add another knife, but I'm running out of reasons to buy one!

Why not get a kitchen knife, then? Foreschner makes great stamped knives with fibrox handles. The chef's knife is pretty good, Ilike mine.

Kitchen knife huh? Hmm...how's it on ninjas?

Big bedside home defense sounds the most fun so far. :-)

I think Spyderco just released the Enuff Sheepfoot Salt - a fixed blade in H1 with full serrations.

Now if that isn't a kayak knife, i'm not sure what is.

Yeah, I saw that. Wish they still made the aqua salt. That was a much mor appealing blade to me.

The Zero Tolerance 0750 is another one you could look at. It kind of reminds me of a wave from certain angles.

The more i think about it, the more im considering buying a sharpmaker instead of another knife right now. I feel like my knife needs are covered better than my sharpening needs. I have coarse through eef dmt diafolds and am quite happy with them and am able to get hair whittling results, but I think I might enjoy having a sharpmaker for quick touch ups too! I also believe it will open up a TON of knife options that I don't even consider at the moment. I don't even pay attention to anything hawk billed or serrated right now. Even though I think I would use them, I don't consider them because I have no way to sharpen them. Sharpmaker might be the best investment at this point. I know it will immediately make that serrated Tasman Salt look really interesting.

Yep...that's what I'm going to do! Uh oh, now I'm already fantasizing about "civilians" and "dodos"! ;-).

How about one just for the fun of it. Assisted opener, lightning fast, you will not stop flicking it until your thumb gets sore. Very affordable, offered in may color option.

One what? Oh, I see, a blur. I'm still open...my arm is easily twisted. Hehehe. I have actually considered trying a flipper too.

Ive carried a Manix2 for about a year and just picked up a ZT 0550. Dont overlook these, I did for a long time amd was sorely mistaken.

How is a SAK not in that collection, you can't call yourself a knife collector or enthusiast without owning one in my opinion. It's the gold standard by which all others are judged by. With that being I say get a full size SAK and a small keychain one like the victorinox rambler as it majority of the things you want in an urban enviroment in a small SAK, small flat heat and phillips to fix small electronics, bottle opener, toothpick, tweezers, scissors, blade. I would say it pairs up nicely with any full size knife. As for the full size SAK I think a Cadet would do nicely, or a Recruit if you want something slim, if you want more of a multi-tool knife there are plenty of options out there.

Just curious...why the 0550 over the 0560. I HAVE been looking at zt's. 0560 has more blade at less weight right? In elmax too? I don't know much about em, but it was the 0560 I was looking at more.

Just lend one of yours to a NKP for a weekend and chances are you will need a new one by the time you get it back.

I ended up buying the 0550 because a fella I work with has a 0561 I was able to handle prior to buying it. The 0561 is a great blade, just a bit too large for my tastes. As far as weight is concerned, the two knives are both 5.8 oz, but the 0560 has the 3.75 inch blade while the 0550 has 3.5 inches. The handle on the 0550 is just thick enough to fit snugly in my hands, while the 0560 felt a little bit slim in comparison. 0560 Has ELMAX, while the 0550 comes in S35VN. Unless you stumble across a decently priced 0551 - those are in ELMAX too. Tough choice between the two...

0550:
S35VN
3.5" Blade
Ti Framelock
Bushing Pivot

0560:
ELMAX
3.75" Blade
3D Machined Ti Framelock
KVT Ball Bearing Pivot

My plan was to kind of "get my feet wet" with the 0550, and then get the 0560 when I wanted a larger folder. Or maybe even splurge on the 0560CBCF and get some S110V composite bladed goodness.
