I want to be a criminal!

Heck . . . I'm honestly not sure about the knife laws here in North Carolina. I've asked the Governor for clarification and I've ask the Attorney General for clarification. Without a doubt I can own any CRK knife. But the laws are not clear to me as to what I can carry as concealed vs open carried (yes . . . I have a concealed carry permit! So I can carry a 9 mm or a .45 caliber or .357 or anything else with no problems or issues at all!) But there may be an issue if I carry a large Sebenza in my pocket! A local police sergeant tells me to not worry about it. No officer is going to arrest me for carrying a large Sebenza and he is probably right! But it's not crystal-clear to me and it should be. So I'm being a jerk and forcing the issue.

Ive lived in the triangle area in n.c. RDU since 2011. I've never been stopped or questioned by a officer of the law. I to have my CCP. I try to do my best to keep my knife clip visible, but it's not always possible. I've heard the same thing, don't be a dumb arse and you'll be fine.

..... I am, no there are not, but I did succumb to the lure of a Sebenza ;)

Me also. Three of them, with more to follow, I'm certain. Also one Umnumzaan and a long owned Jereboam 2. Good thing there are so many wonderful ways to spend our hard earned wages. Damned near tapped out on ASH1 variations needed to complete my collection.

Lol. This is one of the reasons why I hate CA too. The knife laws are absolutely ridiculous. It is unclear which is legal or not. So, I play it safe and carry my small sebenzas with me most of the time. I will carry a Large or an Umnumzaan when I really need leverage when I use it at work.

I think most Cops won't bother you if you are not really showing it off or wielding the knife like a madman. Also, I just avoid doing anything stupid which would attract the attention of a police officer...

Ice_man you are correct I know for a fact a 3 inch and under is legal to carry and use even in public. As for everything bigger I am always confused by the law and carry size and last I looked it was any size in LA county so long as it's in the pocket( exemptions if your using it for work). But I tried looking it up recently and can't find the laws. All I know is your small sebenzas are legal in the pocket, and too use in the public since only 2.95 Inches. I still wouldn't stick it out in all areas or situations when I need a knifs to open something unless I'm in a vehicle or noones around

I just moved to Spain from So Cal. No need to carry an EDC in Europe. You won't need it. Back in California, I mostly used a pocket knife for cutting open things (boxes, plastic packaging, etc.) ... For some reason, in Europe you'll find that you don't need a knife to open things.

Takes some getting used to, feels like you forgot your watch, but it's all cool.

I work in London and EDC one of the uk legal pits / spits .I have been on the public transport when everyones had a pat down and seen so many knives /people taken in to custody .

good luck be safe.

Just moved from SoCal to N Idaho. Can't believe how many signs I've seen that say "gun store"! And I just paid $1.59 a gallon for gas. Man, this place already feels like home.
Free states sure are nice, aren't they...

Nanny state doesn't even describe this. Not one of my tourism dollars will ever go to a place like this.

Here in Wisconsin they just lifted basically all our knife laws at the beginning of Feb. We can carry and conceal anything including autos. Bring on the big folders boys!

I keep hearing how much CA knife laws suck, but most areas are not nearly as bad as what I've heard in some other states, or cities in other states (and countries!). I've never had any problems whatsoever here. Be thankful it's not NYC, Chicago, Boston, UK, Australia, Japan, etc., etc., etc., where knife laws are especially stringent. CA is really not too bad if you actually stop to think about it.

I EDC a large Insingo. But I would NEVER take any of my CRKs for international travel. Ever. I love my Insingo, but I can easily go without it for a while without any problems. Is the stress of worrying about it really worth it to you? The only type of knife I might risk on a trip to the UK would be a small SAK.

Agreed. Not worth losing it. Find a small slipjoint like grandpa used to carry for trips to places with strict laws. They still cut!
