I want to believe - Survive! Speculations! Get it here!

When you guys mentioned 154, do you mean CPM-154 or 154CM? Why do you guys prefer 20CV over 154? I have no experience with any blade in both 154CM and CPM-154 so I am curious.

My experience come from production folders in 20cv and the 154 type steels. Working in the trades I use my knife everyday for tough tasks. I have been very impressed with 20cv so far

I've used my buddies cpm-154 blade and I likes the results but it was dar to short of usage to really tell. I did acquire a ff arête in CPM 154 a few weeks ago and I'll be able to get some feed back of my own on this soon. Survive! is my only 20cv experience and its been a pleasant one. Sharpening and usage have both been great.

Thanks guys. I have no experience with 154 and the only 20CV I have now is the Benchmade Griptillian in 20CV so I probably won't be able to tell the difference between both.

Dude! With the SS GSO 4.7 changing identities, I'm getting more and more curious about what the true SK line will be like. Will the SK's use a 5th type of steel lowering the price even more? Will the handles be less contoured like the old SK 4.1's were going to be? So many exciting questions!

I was kind of thinking she was meaning the SK line was evolving and would be absorbed into the GSO line. Not sure how that would work as far as limiting the options, as i think they still intend to do that. Maybe if you go to the 4.7 page, choose the XXXX steel option, then you're option choices are automatically limited rather than showing you everything?

I had not thought of this! I guess we'll see what they have in store for us. I was thinking the mystery steel version ended up being a little higher end than they imagined and thought they'd move it over to the GSO side. Then they'd have an even more economical version to keep with the true SK philosophy.

I just figured that Guy could not stop himself from making the best knife possible, thus there wasn't enough difference between the GSO 4.7 and the SK 4.7 to justify calling them a different model.

No, I'm pretty sure an SK line is still in the works. Reading between the lines, it seems pretty clear. See below quote directly from SURVIVE!, note the key phrases "plan for that [SK] series has evolved" and "old SK series", which suggests there is a "new" SK series in the works.

This model was originally intended to be part of the SURVIVE! SK Series but by the time these finished production, the plan for that series had evolved. We will be selling them as GSO knives but still in the style of the old SK Series, with a lower price and limited options.

Yeah, but she also mentioned the idea of just having them all on the same page and just another steel option to select. I think she's saying "style of the old SK Series" to indicate there won't be many options available if you choose that steel.

Yes, but she said that only in reference to the current knives, which had been absorbed into the GSO line. It Sounded to me like they may continue to offer this as a steel option for the GSO.

If they intended to eliminate the SK series, I think they would have simply said so. As it is, they hinted at the possibility of an entirely new direction for the SK series.
