The BlackJack Model 1-7 is a savage knife.

I little more then your looking to spend, but they can be had in your price range in the after market.

Darn cool knife I have to say. It was my first Blackjack. Then decided that it was a tad long for a regular use woods knife for me. The 125's run about $150 and the 1-7 about $175 or a tad more or less depending on handle materials. Stag is always more expensive these days.

I think you would be much more willing to really use the BK-7 over the Blackjack. That is the case with me and it's half the price. The choil does allow you to easily choke up on the Blackjack blades for more detailed tasks.

Svord has a Von Tempksy ranger bowie which is a little brother to the big Von Tempsky. It has a 6 3/4 inch blade, L6 steel and a heavy leather sheath. If it is anything like its big brother, its a wonderfully heat treated piece of thick, tuff steel with a thick heavy leather sheath and hardwood handle scales.
