Hello all, just as most of you out there, I EDC a knife. While I get use out of it daily, I find myself wanting to cut more things, and often sit there looking for things to cut lol.

What do you cut daily with your EDC? I cut trings, open envelopes, opening packages, slicing some foods, etc but I would like to cut more haha. What do you cut on the daily?

As of late, I have mostly been using my EDC to pry open cans of Coke.

I did use a Flash 1 to carve a broomstick into a weird shaped quick release to band-aid my broken garage door.

maybe try whittling. It will require some focus and practice, and give you something to show off. I tried showing off cleanly sliced envelopes before, it was not well received :p

i use little my edc but my work opinel8 cut natural and synthetic wire, cardboard, synthetic rope, open cardboard box and wrapper

Cut fingernails... then advance to cuticles... and then progress to arm hair... maybe small capillaries, veins... arteries if things get really tough.

Shave your testicles for the ultimate in macho proof that you have achieved shaving sharp on your blade. Just make sure to post pics... er ... holdit... this isn't Whine & Cheese.

Cut some cheese, and ... uh...

HOLY FREAKING GOD.

ANYONE who does that must have the testicular fortitude of 300 men... but won't shortly after attempting it.

I've taken up a little bit of whittling and it has been very rewarding and really shows off what different knives excel at.

I get the urge to use my R & D Tomahawk every time I pick it up.

Sometimes I've the impression that several people here get into whittling to actually cut something else next to the occasional cardboard box. I never heard about people who took up whittling as a hobby and because of that got the knife bug!

You're a sick man..lol :D

I tend to sharpen and/or strop already sharp blades when I have to play with my knives for no reason. :)

Buy a fixer-upper house. You;ll have plenty of things to cut as you perform fix-its.

I've always liked to cut suff for one reason or another. Not that I even like using knives, I just like to cut stuff. I use to have a bad habit of cutting up my furniture; slashing my bed and couches, taking big chunks out of desks, etc. I try not to do that anymore. I remember one time when I was a kid my parents confiscated all my knives because I had cut my mattress to shreds and stabbed a suit case a few times.

So yeah, sometimes I still find myself cutting up things just for the heck of it, and sometimes I still go, "Oh, wait, that was valuable." Still haven't kept myself from carving notches into my desk.

Whittling sounds good? What kind of wood is good for whittling? I want to try actually carving something.

You could probably start with something soft like balsa? I don't whittle, though so you'll probably get a better answer than mine. I'm a strop-oholic. :D

Boxes, envelopes, & assorted packaging mostly. As a kid a friends parents took us to a guys house that was an expert wood carver. I remember the wooden chains carved from 2 x 4's hanging on the walls and toy cars. The guy was amazing.

Ever tried working at the slaughterhouse? If that doesn't satisfy the urge to cut and slice, then nothing will.;)
