Oh man, I just googled Dark Ops knives. It's as bad as I thought. What the hell is Cobalt Tungstun vanadium stainless steel? That particular knife did at least reveal what the secret ingredients of the knife steel were. Whatever they may be. Also signed by a Navy Seal. Whoo hoo! I'm not trying to trash your knives. I'm sure they will appeal to many:rolleyes: Good luck with the sale.

Knives, like anything else you want to sell, are worth exactly what someone is willing to pay. If you go to the right place, I'm thinking e-bay, then you might actually get more than you think. The money that you paid is already spent. If you don't need them and aren't attached to them(doesn't sound like it) then decide what the least you will take and let'em go. No use crying over spilt milk. BTW. I see you are a member of ARFCOM. You should have known better than to spend your money on anything named "Dark Ops":D

Oh, I'm permanently banned from there for telling one of their protected good ol' boys off.

cpio, did you list those somewhere for sale ? I like to look at the pictures if they are available and to get some info about the blade materials.

Dark Ops began as a ripoff of Extrema Ratio. The owner had been the ER representative in the US. One story has it that the first Dark Ops on the market were actually ERs that they renamed. They should have begun in line with ER build, whether they kept up the quality, I couldn't guess. They probably aren't bad knives, just not very attractive to a sophisticated audience. But then, some rather garish knives show up here often enough.

Having never heard of them I just visited the dark ops site and oh my...

"The edge bevel is an extreme, nearly razor edge 70 degrees."

...lol

The pictures are listed under my for sale thread in the Exchange.

Do a search on ebay for that item, then select "completed listings" and see what they've been selling for.
That should give you a good idea of what you can get. The forums can be funny, there are knife knuts who will pay top dollar for PM2 in the latest super steel,
or the latest overbuilt folder, but a traditional scandi knife may go unnoticed. Ebay is less fickle in that way, many more buyers, often with less specific tastes than on the forums.

I got banned from m-4carbine.net for pretty much the same thing. After the creep stalked me for 2 weeks. Unfortunately for me the creep was a moderator:D

So far I have really enjoyed my time here. And I ain't been on my best behavior or nothing......

Try Ebay, as mentioned. There does seem to be an audience there for them, although prices are soft compared to retail. If they were mine, I'd price highish, and add a best offer button to the listing.

It's funny, but I get the best results (most $) with a low starting fee. Somebody quickly puts in a bid to kill the "buy it now" option, and it ends for a higher price!
