I want to learn to sharpen knives but don't know where to start

Learning to freehand sharpen is a skill worth putting the time into learning if for no other reason than once you get the feel for it, you can almost always find something to use. Using the top edge of a car window is also a good surface that is usually available for finish edge after the smooth rock you picked up and used.--Just another old timey skill for your skill sets.--KV
