I want to try Magnacut

Railsplitter Railsplitter how about a neck knife. I have a box full of small MagnaCut EDC/neck knife blanks put away for a rainy day. Lots of blade shapes. Here's the one I've been carrying lately, though something like this one would be a bit above the stated price point due to extra materials and construction. But base price will be around or a bit below it depending on what you choose. A few with different handle design as well. All are hardened to around 63 RC. I could have one ready for you within two to four months. Nothing due until completion.

Thank you David but I want something sooner. I am one of those “instant gratification” guys. 😁

Am pretty sure the Delica is only made in Japan and so VG10 is the only steel used.
You're partly right. The delica is made in Japan, but it comes in many different steels, though Magnacut isnt one of them. I even have an S90V Delica. Its a wonderful knife and can be found in about any steel you want.

your specifications at the Buck custom shoppe.
I wish they offered the spitfire in magnacut, but no.

There was an email a little while ago stating that they were going to offer some M.C. in the custom shop but it hasn't hit the spitfire yet. I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Tell us a little about this knife is it easy on the thumb on deploying the blade/ how is the action and is the blade when deployed solid.
Just your thoughts on this knife.
It's very nice. The action is snappy and requires a definite, deliberate push, but it's not a thumb breaker at all. The blade has your standard OTF blade play, but nothing egregious or particularly noticeable when in use.

For those familiar with other OTFs I would say the action is a bit heavier than the Benchmade Shootout, about comparable to the new generation Microtechs I've handled. I have an older Combat Troodon that's very stiff to retract the blade and this is nothing like that. It doesn't deploy quite as aggressively as a Microtechs, but the retraction is quick and fun and actually feels faster than deployment.

I find the handle more comfortable than an Ultratech and it's considerably less expensive, so I'm very happy with it right now.

The Kershawguy has a bunch of Magnacut knives (Microtech, ZT and Kershaw) on sale. For example, the Launch 20 (I don't have this one but a couple of other Launches, they are great):

Personally I'd be more than satisfied with the S35VN blade. I've got a fair number of blades in that steel from different manufacturers, and I really like how easy it is to keep super sharp while not worrying about corrosion. Edge lasts a good while too, even on Chris Reeve's softer heat treatment.
