First of all, Happy New Year!

Secondly, I would like to thank all of you for the various things you invent and then post about it. I purchased a little box of 2 Reynold's Oven Bags to test out and, in general, thanks for all of the good ideas.

Happy New Year to you and all. I am constantly amazed at the ideas and general ingenuity displayed by the good folks here. I've learned a lot hanging around in WSS:)

Your welcome Don. Ive learned alot around here too, as we all have.

BTW, I spent hours reading on your site last night. Great pics and articles etc. I really enjoyed the homeless survival story you hosted.

Great site man!!

You bet man, this site just seems to spit out all the information without the bullshite. This is no place for zombi hunters!:D

Great site man!!

There is some good stuff on there if I do say so meself. :D

The "Homeless" article is a gem, that was in the early days of Bladeforums and other forums where that was posted, I have not heard from the guy in a long, long time. People move on, etc.

Well, sometimes there is. 8-)

Zombie Hunters who use that to game shelter in place survival have quite likely found out a lot of things that others who are into "Urban Survival" have not even considered yet. :D

Don - I have equally enjoyed your site, thank you for it.

Your artical Low-Tech Knives in a High-Tech World is great.

I agree - this site is great and i've learned quite a bit as well!

Hi Don back at you man. LOL I to really enjoy reading the stories you have on your site. your dads story is still my fovorite one though. LOL
thanks again for sharing the other pics of your dad while he was in the Marines. That was very cool for another jarhead to see. Thank you.
Take care and chat with you later,

Bryan

Very cool Don! I'm happy here as well, and especially glad we have less animosity than awhile back.;)

Happy New Year, all! Thanks for making W&SS the coolest place to hang your hat!

I don't even have any idea what there was any friction about!

I'm busy making new friends and adversaries in the New Hampshire Negligent Bonehead Law thread!

It was just a jest (poorly I guess) at when we had quite an animated discussion involving terminology of "Survival", "preparedness" and our choices in wearing camouflage. It just got heated at times and I thought it was amusing and informative, but I'm glad it's over.
Happy New Year!

Eh, some people get a bone crossways about "survivalism" and "survivalist," is that what it was about?

A lot of people think I am just seething with anger, I'm not. I mean, I'm a human being, I do get angry at times, but for the most part in these discussions - I'm laughing. When I say something like, "You gotta be f****** kidding me man!" I'm laughing. Telling someone to go shit in their hat is also funny. Unfortunately, I am not the nice guy in more genteel circles.

That was it. I'm not a nice, kind and gentle guy myself. That's why I thought it was amusing and memorable. But I'm obviously beating a dead and unfunny horse here. Maybe we do need another one of those threads for the New Year.;):D

BTW, I like your site as well.

Oh, people can call themselves a "preparedness geek" or a "prep-mankey," I don't care. I think the root word of "survivalism" and "survivalist" is still "survival" so people can run from it or embrace it, don't matter none to me.

I think they need to understand that one of the main reasons that the more liberal (left wingnut control freaks along with the right wingnut authoritarian conservatives) among us don't really care what you call yourself when it comes to this stuff. The mere fact you are into knives and/or firearms and being able to take care of yourself is offensive to them so they are always going to try to brand people as being "paranoid" for doing so.

Being a Gold Investor ("Gold Bug") is offensive to people who are into the stock market. It is offensive to the pushers of worthless paper and being able to take care of yourself is offensive to those that think government is basically corrupt and incompetent and you better be able to take care of yourself. That goes for the predatory humans they keep releasing from prison along with surviving natural and manmade disasters, etc.

BTW, I like your site as well.

Hey friend, that's what it's there for! I take some heat for that as well. I know a couple little fruits in this forum like to point out stuff about my website every time I get in a disagreement with them or vice-versa, "Oh, yeah, read his website! His genius on hollow handle knives!" And they always say it like I am trying to hide the site. Being rocket scientists, they can't figure out I post links at times to it. 8-)
