Stay with it brother, recovery is tough. In 2005 I was in a motorcycle accident and I smashed my pelvis into 8 pieces, open fracture of my ulnar, closed fracture of the radial, split the top of my left femur a few inches, internal bleeding and a(nother) head injury. I got enough hardware in me to make a few knives now. Keep with it and stay positive.
 
It sounds like you're keeping a good frame of mind about the whole thing. I guess it wasn't your choice. That was pretty scary.

Anyway, glad to hear you are going to be okay!
