  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I went to a Gun and Knife show today, just to look...

You're right, the Lahar is supposed to be a 1750, the NRGII is the 1745. If that's a factory mistake, it might make the knife worth a little more, right?

1745 - Lahar - or at least I think it is a Lahar, but isn't the Lahar supposed to be labeled as a 1750?

Nice score on the Groove! Those are somewhat rare these days. It's a very unique, non-assisted, RJ Martin design.
I like the little Junkyard Dog too. I wish I never sold mine.

I did some digging on the forums and there are a couple of threads mentioning this misprint, so it probably happened to a few knives. In Sept. '07, Thomas W. alluded to it being an "early laser error" so that dates this knife to one of the early production models.

This Lahar doesn't have a "Born On Date" but the other 4 from the herd do, Speed Bump is the oldest at Jan 06, the JYD and Groove are both Jan 07 and the ENER-GII comes in at Aug 07.

The Lahar seems to be a bit unique in Kershaw's modern folding lineup, it was manufactured in Japan with VG-10 steel - anyone know of any other Kershaw models using VG-10? I can't find any references to any official Lahar model variations (like with my Skyline obsession and different steels, finishes, scales, engravings...) so this would make it an unofficial Lahar variant for a family of 2!

Oh - and the box indicates it is indeed a "1750 Lahar"

I was doing a little search on RJ Martin-designed Kershaws, and I'm extremely impressed by your haul . . . and your taste in knives! I'm a huge Groove fan (have a couple) and have a Speedbump and a Lahar en route. I actually bought what I thought was a Lahar once at a gun show, but the guy had the boxes mixed up and I ended up with a Storm in a Lahar box. Kind of a rip-off when comparing the price of the two, but I love the Storm regardless.

I'm headed to a big show in a couple weeks, and I'm hoping to find some mix of NOS Kershaws and new Kershaw/ZT 2014 models.

Great haul! All of those are fairly hard to find, especially that version of the Speed Bump and the large Ener-G.

There is one more version of the Lahar that I know about, the 1750GRN with green G-10, of which there are only 272 worldwide, and only 32 of those in the US.

The other day I went to Mamma Quans massage and lingerie...just to look.

Nice score.

Thanks for that update, and that is some very precise data! I have learned that the Lahar is a variant made by Kershaw of a custom Tim Galyean knife.

Ironically - the knife I've most taken to is the ENER-G - it just fits my hand so well and the Lee Williams' flipper is amazingly smooth. It motivated me to hunt down variants of the ENER-G I & II and the OD I & II.

Once they arrive I'll have to do a new "family photo!"
