and all you got are some pics. :D Click here to see the pics

I also picked up a couple pirate shirts as I've always wanted one. Guess what I'll be for Halloween? It was a small local one but was fun anyways. I really like the pike and matchlock demos. If you look close at some of the shooting pics you can see the power burning in the air after firing. Cool!!

Lots of girls, guys, swords, pole arms, girls, and armor, and maybe, just maybe, a mystical creature. Can you find her?

Hint she has a fuzzy tail, neat bracelets, and seems to be a little horny.

I was pretty disappointed with the swords there for sale.

Actually for a small local faire to have pike and matchlock demos is pretty high speed.
I am going to be linking your guns and pikes photos to my yahoogroup.

the wasters the fighters are using look like they are from Purpleheart.

Yeah I know what you mean about thier swords. But remember they are mainly for sell to the crowd who haven't the slightest clue about blades big or small.

NAH I don't do this sort of thing from time to time.

Cool pics as always!  And I found your little beastie, pretty little thing even if she was a little horny, made me wonder if she was kin to Lorne on the old TV series Angel except her color wasn't anywhere close to green.;) :D :p

I would've liked to have been there and seen the old matchlocks working. Those things have always held a certain fascination for me and I've always wondered if they were a 'fair weather gun' because of the smoldering match probably going out if it were very rainy.

Greate pictures, Ted. You've got a great eye. You could almost be a ... oh, yeah, you are.

Interesting 'cartridge' belt in the Guns n Pikes folder.

That looked like a lot of fun!

Great photos.

And yes, I liked your little... faun? Faunness? Goodness.... Anyhow... it looked like she needed a little rescuing!

Those manacles must have been tight... and we know how wood-spirits detest the feel of steel (or do I have my mythologies addled again?)

Certainly, a good use for a sharpened pry-bar or a tomahawk, YES?

I'm really missing the Renn Faire in MD! :( :( :(

There was a guy there with full body armor - in black leather (shingle style). It was awesome...heavy and hot to wear...but awesome.

I guess I'm biased on the weaponry....I could care less for the wenches...and the pomp....but I could hang out at the armory all day. :D

Is that Tudor Fayre?
They are a new faire, are they not? Hey, winkle is right, having matchlocks at a new, small faire is pretty unusual. But then, Renn. faires have brought about interest in many things. Western Martial Arts are being resurrected primarily because of the Renn faire people. Some gun makers are making wheellock and matchlock weapons for us at very decent prices.
(Ive youve never seen a wheellock gun fire - its a hoot. looks like someone using a grinder and then there is an explosion)
The quality and quantity of Rennaissance period weaponry has gone sky high.
And yes, the women at faire are "special."

There was one guy there with a wheellock, but I missed him. All the other guys were talking about him. Yes, it was a Tudor Fayre. This particular faire has been around for awhile, but is now under new management. I thought it went really well.

Lovely ladies.

I love these: old style clothing, modern hair removal/hygiene. The best of 2 worlds.

Ah, to live in a populated state where such things take place...

SCA isn't really alive around here, and forget about a Ren Faire. Great shots Ted!

Rennaissance Fairs are all about chicks and cleavage!

I approve of BOTH!

cool pics, looks like a lot of fun

I went to my first one last year, it was the one near houston, was a ton of fun! I cant wait to go back this fall!
