I will never use this knife

I only have 2 knives that will never be used going forward, even though they've been used in the past.

1. Gerber BMF. First "real knife" I was ever given. Father gave it to me when I was old enough to hunt.
2. Original SOG desert dagger (yeah, the one from Kill Bill). Got that when I was in the military.

Neither are really serviceable. The BMF is not great steel and collectible AF, but it's value is in its memories.

The desert dagger has no real use in my life now, and memories plus collectible AF.

The rest of my blades may or may not be used depending on the whims and needs of the day.

I do have knives that I never use, but now I am getting older I find myself being nostalgic about things from my past. I find myself thinking "I wonder what happened to this or that?" or remembering something that I used to have and find myself wishing I could see it again. This has made me careful about getting rid of stuff. I guess good or bad, it is like getting rid of a personal piece of history. An example is my "survivor" 80's survival knife. It pretty much sucks and I have no plans to use it, but wouldn't get rid of it for anything, because it brings back the memories of my youth.
I have a "rambo" knife from the early 80s that is an absolute piece of crap. At some point I tried to pry with it and the "stainless steel" twisted like a pretzle. Of no value to anyone but me and I've hung onto that one for at least 40 years.

Yes, I've heard .... especially the ones with the red soles ... or are those French, I'm not sure.
Yep, Christian Louboutin, Pantone 18-1663 TPX is the code for the red leather. AKA Chinese Red. He also makes men's brogues, sneakers, slippers, belts, hats, all the stuff you'd expect from a major fashion house nowadays. Only a matter of time before he commissions some sort of pocketknife, but how to deal with his red's similarity to Pantone PMS 58-16 C, or Victorinox Red? Ah, the trials and tribulations of high fashion!! 😅

I have a Desert Dagger too. Got it because it looked so bad ass in the mail order catelogs back in the 90s.

I have a collection of custom hunting knives that I bought to collect and not to use so they won't get used by me as hunting knives because I really don't hunt much. But I do use them to look at. I weeded out a couple and gifted to extended family members that do hunt, and I picked out a couple of smaller ones that I occasionally carry in an EDC capacity.

My Work Tuff Gear "Pathfinder".

I LOVE large/overbuilt knives and am 99.5% sure that I'll NEVER touch/use this particular knife.

*Maybe I'll throw it in "The Exchange" and put the proceeds toward that 1911 that I've been eyeing.

I do have knives that came with others in a package (exchange) that I wasn't really interested in. Or that I even bought to benefit from free shipping at online stores or whatever. And the truth is that some of those knives are too small, too cumbersome or just too crappy for me to feel comfortable carrying them.

I will not use them because I own better alternatives for that particular niche. So they will probably end up stored somehere for ocassional use (gym bag, first aid kit, etc.) or gifted.

I have a CPK field knife 2 bad idea I never used just because I got a a basic field knife almost immediately afterwards and used it like a rented mule and it just laughed at me. Loved that knife but gave it to my daughter as she didn’t have a camping knife., she does now. Use all my others.

Yeah, a couple of them. When I was younger and stupider, I ordered a "Magnum Dagger" off Amazon because I wanted to have a dagger. The thing is shoddily put together, the grind lines are assymetrical and it's mystery steel, handle is too small and ... Well, it's a dagger ^^ it is in my nightstand, so theoretically, should someone manage to get through my reinforced door, it'd be the first tool for defense in reach, but that's just a fantasy I reckon.

I also own a Gerber Paraframe Mini which I have used before I really got into knives and discovered that it really isn't for me. Lives in a drawer in the living room, I sometimes take it out and check if it's still sharp, then put it back.

Then there's a multitool I got from my wife's mother for Christmas, which is probably from AliExpress or Amazon, it was sticky all over from some kind of oil, the liner lock on the blade gets stuck (never been used) and all the tools are cheap as can be. I also really don't like my wife's mother, that's another reason it won't be used.

There were two more I didn't use, some kind of S&W Firefighter folder with assisted opening, liner lock and a belt cutter on the back and recurved blade, gave that one away and the other was a fixed blade bushcraft/survival knife designed by SurvivalLilly off Youtube, gave that one away as well.
