I will soon be buying a Strider folder

Dammit Megalobyte how many times you gonna post that freakin pic and gloat about your score?! Next time post something with some boobs. :D

Buck does have excellent customer service and they decide whether to cover abuse case by case. I mistakenly allowed someone to sharpen my Buck Duke a few years ago on a machine that was made to sharpen large kitchen knives. Half the blade just dissapeared between those 2 big wheels. Anyway, when I sent it to Buck and asked how much it would cost for a new blade, they replaced it for free. Their director of customer service and relations, Joe Houser is about as nice a guy as you'll find.

And yes, Strider has the best warranty.

Umm Wolf, its pretty easy to find boobs.
But that nightmare edge tthing is really haunting me.
I can only think of a few reasons to have one but Im sure I could justify it.

Megalobyte if you don't mind me asking how well does that section of blade work for general cutting work?
Or is it reserved for defense work.

I think that picture is a pretty good answer to the question; "is a cool knife worth a pile of money". Its a most disturbing desktop as well.
Want to sell it?

I have an AR and like it when I am expecting heavy duty tasks, like camping, digging out after our recent hurricane etc. I would like a GB for my survival kit but am reluctant to go $350.00 on one.

Is anyone unhappy with their GB? Maybe we can talk.

The only people you'll find who are displeased with ANY Strider product are the trolls here.

Don't bother waiting, as none of them have owned a single Strider product and can't afford them to begin with.

Dude...just get it...its SO worth it... :D

drjones: You're right, no one is ever unhappy with a Strider. I love my AR. Still talking myself into spending the cash on the GB

Amen to that! I have two Strider fixed blades (A WP and a MFS), and love both dearly. Striders are built to take gross abuse that would send other knives home cryin' to momma.

I own many Striders and The StriderGuys have gone out of their way on some of my stuff that I have had to send in for service.

I have yet to run into anyone that has buyer's remorse after a Strider purchase, and if one does, you can probably sell it a year later for damn near what you paid for it.
Out,
Cris

That statment is just ludicrous, at best.

Are you that insecure about your preference that you need post nonsense like that?

Good god, some of the stuff you read around here is just laughable.

It took three years from the first day I actually considered myself a "knife collector/enthusiast" to the day I made the decision to buy a Strider - and at that, just to see first-hand what the fuss is all about. (What had always turned me off from buying one previously was all the back-slappin', tunnel-vision, fanatical "gushing" whenever the name 'Strider' is mentioned.)

About a month ago, I received my first Strider - a black SnG. An hour after I had unpacked it, I ordered my second Strider, an AR.

Add me to the converted! :D

And I can't even explain why. They're humungous, the small flaws and blemishes drive an anal-retentive like me nuts, and, yes, they're fairly expensive. Yet they coexist peacefully with my exquisite Koji Hara and Steigerwalt slip-joints.

There's just something about those Striders that ya gotta love. (My MARSOC has been ordered.)
