I wish I had a NEW Busse

After a thread that came up the other day about which Busse would work well for Bushcraft, and that being the type of knife I like most, I wish Busse would just make a specific Bushcraft knife.

Something like a BA-III (or a Big-Game Warden) but not such a tall (edge to spine) blade, and a very small choil or no choil at all, and a bit more of a drop pt for drilling.

I may have to sell some stuff and just have one made.

Yep, I would definately buy at least a few if Busse made them. A BAIII with a thinner blade would do. For me a I would want it slightly smaller say the size of a MS is about perfect. Approximately 1/8" spine with a very efficient cutting/slicing geometry.

Sounds like you're describing a Tanker A

Isn't the Tanker A about the same size as the BATAC with a slightly different tip?

I think that would still be slightly too big for a bushcraft knife. The whole point of a bushcraft knife is to have it in the smallish compact size with a highly efficient edge geometry for wood.

Euro 4 maybe? I'd like to have a Euro 4 one of these days.

A tanker is a nice knife but for this purpose it is kind of big; too thick and too heavy and maybe more blade than you need. I just considered one and passed on it.

When I think of this kind of knife I think of packing a pack that I'm going to carry for over 10 miles a day and I'm even cutting any extra straps off the pack to save weight.

So a tanker isn't the knife I think of, something more lke the ABA-III and ligher if possible, and maybe a bit smaller as I described.

Add sand bags to your pack. Gradually empty them as you go along. By the end of 10 miles, your pack will feel like it's filled with feathers. You won't even notice the four FBMs you have in there.

Excuse my ignorance. What the heck is that?

That is an all carbon fiber race bicycle that just sits in my garage now, and is worth about 5 or 6 MINT SHBMs. Of course it sits with about eight others.

On second thought, the Euro 4 has no drop. The ABA still rules in this category, I think.

That's nice. Is that an adhesive trowel on top of that thing. I used something like it the other day when putting down some linoleum.

What will they come up with next?

Yeah, those BAIII's and the like are exactly what you need.
Send all your unwanted and unneeded SHBA's to me for disposal. :D

Guyon,

You have to remember that I'm 54 now and I'm no longer that dumb. But only about three yeas ago I was. When a buddy was getting ready for a big climb I'd train with him by walking up Mt Tam with our packs filled with water jugs. That way we could dump much of the water at the top so we wouldn't kill our knees on the way down.

be a great knife for a terminator 4 movie when Arnold is on his walker and he grabs that so called knife and commits hari kari or is that in terminator 5 :D ;)
