I wish I had a NEW Busse

For light knives I like to use the Mora's. Disposable when it comes down to it. About .098'' thick. About 4'' high carbon blade. Acute edge, good for wood work. For about $10 shipped off that auction site you can't go wrong. I just got 2 more with the orange plastic handle. I'm just using them until I find a ABA though :D.....I actually like em though...I'll probably STILL use them and give them to friends even after I get a ABA. Good little knives.

Tony,

If I didn't know any better.... It sounds like you are looking for a anorexic something ;)  Is that a skeleton I just discovered in your closet :D

Perhaps a AD taken down to 1/8" with a full flat ground distal taper?

Is that some kind of auto post software that you have?

Great idea.
I'll work on that.

I was just trying to be helpful with your concern of weight savings.
Weights of a few badgers

1) INFI SHBA .230 thick = 10.5 oz
2) BAIII .187 thick = 9.0 oz
3) ABA .150 thick = 7.5 oz
4) Custom Dog Skinner D2 blade .150 thick = 7.0 oz

I've also thought about a Busse bushcraft knife. the closest it seems they have now would be a leaner meaner SE...
High flat grind, 4" blade, but maybe the handle is not quite bushcraft friendly?

Any regular edition Busse's with a high flat in 3/16 or less?

J.

I have an Anorexic BA-III with a clip point:D

An AD would be too small but it is close. It needs about another 1/2 to 3/4 inch of edge and a less pointed spear point and a rounded butt so you can push on it with your palm.

A SHBA may be OK but some guy has Hogged all of those:grumpy:.

Whoever is hogging all the BAIII's.......give them up! Or else Tony is gonna run you over with is super duper Carbon Fiber somethingathingamajiggi bike ;)

Actually, I can use one of them BAIII's also.

Ban,

Not much to fear... with heavy wheels it is 17.5 lbs. My cat weighs more!

Are you keeping up with the tour Tony? Today's a rest day right? It's ON tomorrow :D!

Yes I have been watching and today is a rest day.

Strange Tour. No one can step up and control it. And that isn’t just for the overall. Even in the sprint stages the sprinters’ teams can’t take control of the final 5k and the sprints are free for alls.

The guy with the yellow jersey now could win if he can get about 7-8 minutes in the mountain stages. He needs that much because there is over 100k of individual time trials and he will lose almost seven minutes in those two stages.

But it will be fun to see if he can do it. It is rear to see a pure climber win the Tour. Last was Pantani in 1998 and before him it would go back to Delgado in 1988 and before that 1976 Van Impe.

If you need a drill, get a cordless Makita, they work great and you could take it biking with you for repairs!

I thought the BA-III was too thick for my liking, so I traded mine for a BA-E (1/4" yeah I know , different knife).

I like the ABA's better

I have two DeWalt cordless drills. No complaints.

Just got a DeWalt 12" dual-bevel, sliding compound-miter saw (say that three times fast) off of craigslist. Very happy to find it. It's the older model 708 that woodworkers loved. DeWalt totally screwed up when they changed their slide and fence design and came out with the model 718. So far, so good with the saw. It looks like it was hardly used.

How about a 2002 Colnago C-40 B-stay with Campy 10?

No thanks, I live in Kamloops British Columbia. The roads I like to play on are dirt and steep. Now maybe if you had a KONA Stab Deluxe. Then we could talk! ;)

Tony, sounds like what you need is one of the drop point hunter protos, the knife in the bottom of the picture. Might be hard finding one though! Or maybe the Grinducci special on top, I could make it have more of a drop point for drilling, it does have the handy bottle opener on it!

I think the campy ten group is worth more than I want to imagine. If you sell that bike you should be able to order a batch of nearly any knife you want. For that kind of money I'd grind my BATAC down for you, just send me your sketches(and the money). I'll rattle can you any color coating you want.
