I would get a Gayle Bradley if it was not....

It's an awesome knife and so is the Sage. Really top notch fit and finish.

If the blade was stainless it wouldn't have the great mix of edge retention, tremendous sharpness, and toughness that makes CPM M4 so great. Put a dab of mineral oil on the blade, wipe it around, and now you have a food safe oil to keep the rust away. Or, if you're not worried about cutting food wipe it down with a tuff cloth or use some kind of silicon protectant and you are mostly worry free about corrosion. I actually much prefer the blade not having a coating, but everyone is different.

I kinda have a weight limit in my head too on EDC carry. I just moved it higher. Can't wait to snag one of these.

How does that reduce how much it drags down a pants pocket?

If a 6 oz knife is dragging down a pants pocket it might be time for new pants or a different style.

Perhaps I'm missing something but I simply cannot comprehend how the miniscule amounts of weight and weight differences being discussed are even noticeable let alone cause for concern or objection?

I'm starting to develop this image of people weighing the credit cards and dollar bills in their wallets to stay under a "limit" and leaving change lay on the counter because two quarters a nickel and three pennies is just too much to lug around

This made me LOL and it's all I can see when people complain about half an ounce. I don't have an issue with jeans or dress pants, most likely because I wear a belt ;)

Thank goodness for zinc pennies. Back before the switch in '81, my pants were always draggin'. The zinc ones are so much lighter than the old copper ones! I've been looking at some of those new aluminum bladed knives. Edge retention suffers a little, but they're really light!

:D ;)

The OP said his limit is 5 ounces or less. I'm sure an ounce or two isn't enough to drag your pants down. I dunno about you, but the only people I've met that have complained about knives being too heavy didn't complain about it because they're pants were dragging down.

My comment about weight lifting stands because people that lift weights have a whole 'nother appreciation for what's heavy. But that's from personal observation.

I wonder how much a belt and buckle or a "nice" watch weighs?

After carrying a ZT030X "back in the day", 5.whatever ounces is like a walking on water . . .

Too heavy? We're talkiing about ounces not pounds. We fought WWII with a 10lb rifle and now a 6oz knife is too much to carry? Can a human being even tell the difference between a 5oz knife and a 6oz knife in their pocket? I don't believe it's humanly possible but too each their own I guess.

First, thank you for your service. :D

This is the new world of manicured fingers and designer clothing metrosexual males. Good forbid we have to carry any extra weight around! :p I already carry around too many extra pounds around my mid-section as it is.

BTW, this is a tongue in cheek comment. No offense meant to all the metrosexual knife carriers in this forum. ;)
