I would like a folder...

The Surefires have also peaked my interest. I don't have one yet but sure am considering it. Just been spending all my money on knives ;):D

Speaking of Surefire's, isn't it funny their new model
designation is E2e. Now where have I seen this before????
Do they come with an ergo style handle????;) :D

Any of you Busse folks have a Strider folder? If so, what do you think about it? I'm very, very tired of waiting for a Busse folder. Do you think a Strider is a good second choice?
Thanks.

Andrew, yep sure do have a folder fund. It's called my siblings, once a folder is available I shall sell my brothers & sisters then buy a folder with the money :D

Well, how long has it been now that we've been promised a folder? At least a year I think. If I knew for sure that there would be a folder in production sometime soon, I'd wait, but I'm beginning to think that we are not being told the whole story.
And so, I think that I will be ordering a Strider AR folder and you know what? I don't think I will regret it. They are extremely beefy folders and are warranteed against breakage, even if used for prying and chopping. No INFI but in a folder, 3/16" of expertly heat treated steel is probably going to be stronger than you need.
Besides, if there ever really is a Busse folder that lives up to the hype, I could always sell the Strider. They have a tremendous following and hold their value well.

Harrydog,
Here is what I think I know;). Jerry is waiting for a machine
that will be dedicated strictly for the folder.

I would bet Jerry has been playing with a prototype the last few months, working out the bugs. You can bet your britches, when Busse has a folder, she will be worth the wait. :D
Have a nice day:)

I ordered a Strider AR folder. It's the most heavy duty folder currently available as far as I know. 4" blade of S30V steel, heat treated personally by Paul Bos. Unconditional garantee. If you mannage to break it, you get a new one, now questions asked, but I don't think that happens very often. 4-5 month wait however. These babies are in high demand. Maybe by that time, Jerry will be ready with his folder...but maybe not, and I don't want to go on indefinitely without a folder of this type, as I've already been waiting for a year.
I never paid any attention to Strider knives until recently, and I like what I see.

harrydog, I thought Strider was still making ARs and GBs out of BG-42??
I know mick mentioned that they were going to be making a few in S30V just to try em out, but i never heard that they switched over.

or did you just ask them to build you one in S30V instead of BG-42??

I know that all folders to date have BG42 blades. Mick from Strider said they are currently doing a 100 piece production run of S30V blades, so I just assumed that the one I just ordered would be S30V. It was an assumption on my part and I could be wrong.

Stu, don't believe any of it. It's all an inside joke. Busse makes fixed blades, not folders. If I remember correctly the last time he spoke of the folder, he compared it to a set of venitian blindes. Oh, and it doesn't actually fold, it pushes out through the front. Try picturing that one in your mind!!:D :)

The Striders definitely are tops when it comes to tough folders with the sebenza being a close second (thinner blade). However a 3/16 INFI folder would be awesome. Make the frame of the folder out of Beta-Ti instead of 6Al4V, with a 3/16 inch pivot pin made of D2 separated by polished 440V washers and the lock system would be a bolt action lockback in combination with a frame lock. That would rule the tough folder market.

I've handled these at a show. Not even close to the Strider AR or GB. For one, they're autos. More mechanical than a manual folder so more prone to failure. They are beefy autos though, but I don't think that they are the the closest thing to the Busse Folder :). I would put them in the same class as the Buck Strider folders. JMHO :D

Huh..................

Oh no......SureFire!:eek:Finally decided to get one (E2E), almost at the same time I decided it was time for an AD and all sorts of other cool stuff........ And then my friggin fridge dies!!!! AAAARGH!
It's nowhere near as funny spending your hard earned money on everyday stuff like a fridge compared to cool stuff like Busse and SureFire!:grumpy:

you know... if you reeeeealy just wanted a folding peice of infi, and not necessarily one that came from the shop, you could always grind down a smaller busse and make a custom folder, or send it to a costum maker.... just a thought
