I think a SAK is an excellent EDC choice but they slide out of my pockets all the time, especiallly in car seats.

I do keep an ambassador on my key chain but hardly use it. I would love to have my fieldmaster as my main EDC.

Anyone else have this problem?

BTW I hate belt pouches for urban carry.

I've never had that problem. You could get a pocket sheath for it or carry it on a lanyard with a quick release attached to your belt loop or something, though.

Never had that problem, before. You could just use a belt sheath, or a knife chain, or lanyard?

I'd say static cord it to your belt-loop, with or without a clip; or put it into something like a slipsheath that will give some grip to the inside of your pockets.

You might consider an IWB {inside waist band} sheath. these are usually used to carry a spare mag for an automatic pistol. as the name implies the knife rests in a sheath between your pants and you. a clip goes over your waistband or your belt. easy to get at, unless you're a fat guy like myself, and inexpensive. also leaves the knife pretty much concealed so it doesn't attract attention. later, ahgar

yea, crap falls outta my pockets like crazy. the only thing that keeps my cell phone from falling outta my pocket is my knife thats clipped to my pocket.

there are some threads that show how to put a clip on the scale of a SAK.
you should check some of those out, if you havent already

I had the same problem. I'd be sitting at my desk at work and it would be on the floor and people would come by and hand it to me.

Now I have a Benchmade clipped to me pocket.

I put mine in my back pocket alligned vertically next to my wallet. It has never fallen out. What type of pants do you wear? I carry an Adventurer which is 4-3/8 inches long when closed.

Yes, the SAKs and any other smaller knives without pocket clips have fallen out of my pockets, usually while in a car. I've found that a simple lanyard with a clip to hook on to a belt loop helps. It's an easy DIY project.

The clip project is great.

Stormdrane, Do you unclip the lanyard with each use?

Thanks to everyone.

The lanyard is long enough that if I just need to do a quick cut, I leave it attached to my belt loop. If I'm going to be using the knife/tools for something more, I unclip it, and can run the lanyard around my wrist and clip it back to the knife so it serves as a wrist strap, which comes in handy if around water, or somewhere I know I don't want to drop the knife.

Get a bigger Swiss Army knife model and it won't fall out so easily. I have problems with things falling out of my pockets only with dress pants.

You can also make it less likely to fall out if you don't carry it by itself in the pocket. If I carry my front pocket wallet or even another knife cllipped or loose along with my vic soldier in the same pocket it gets trapped by the other object and the pocket gets weighted down and the vic soldier doesn't pop out.
