Ice fishing is almost as exhilarating as skydiving!

What a timely post! Great pics!

My sister and her husband live in Maine and I am from South Louisiana, did most of my growing up in Garland Texas. Snow and sub-30 temps are a novelty to me still...we are having several nights in the 20's here coming up which is about as cold as it will get in the NOLA region.

I am going ice fishing in Maine for the first time during Mardi Gras - thankfully they have a camp right on "the pond" aka the Atlantic Ocean - they live in Northwest Harbor on Mount Dessert Island.

They have the whole set up. I did have to gear up as all of the Maine guys on her husband's side are twice as big as me.

They also have those "ice wind runners with sails" we may get to take out.

I have been to Maine, just never in the winter and never, ever ice fishing.

I cannot wait.

I will have several Busse on hand for chopping experiments and camp duties.

With the winter like it is, there should be some real good ice he says!
