I'd buy it in a second if only manufacturers made it...

Benchmade Griptilian in G10 (or a Ritter). (and not aluminum with G10 inlays!) Heck, I'd even send Benchmade a deposit....

Any other "suggestions" for manufacturers???

You bet.... CRKT M21 in a tool steel. Preferable O1 or D2. One of my favorite designs, I'm just not a fan of AUS8.

I'd buy in a second:

A Spyderco Para with a integral Compression Lock on one side, G10 on the other.

An affordable (Kershaw, are you listening?) version of the G&G Hawk T.o.a.d..

... A Sebenza with a Spyderco hole instead of a thumbstud.

Ok I already own the Sebenza but I'd *really* like it with a hole opening option!

You know I've been asking for a G10 Griptillian for a while now, a lot of people have, but I'm starting to rethink it. I think the point of the Grips is to provide Benchmade quality at normal people obtainable prices...and if we want to upgrade handle material, well, there are quite a few knives there.

But I'd still love a G10 Grip in D2.....We could do aluminum handle with G10 inserts. But really, the price is the main reason I chose my D2 minigrip over an assortment of other Benchmades.

The best alternative is probably the para...I really think the compression lock is a competitor, though I can see why some people prefer the axis lock.

I've been thinking of a Shirmish frame with a blade more akin to the 710's or 800's.

In a tool steel, ideally not D2 (too many knives in that steel - it's good, but there are a lot of other fine tool/carbine steels out there).

Spyderco Centofante in G-10 with full metal (titanium) liners on both sides would be awesome.

I want to See a Military in ZDP-189, and then a Sebenza in ZDP-189. Yeah it would bring costs up but man they'd be nasty. I feel you guys on the G-10 ritter I like those knives but a g10 set of grips would be nice even thouhg it would raise costs. I would also like to see the Titanium CRKT M16 with a S30v blade and a heat treated thicker liner, to me that knife is sweet if they'd use a better blade steel. Another for me is a kershaw Leek in Ats-43 or 154-cm, they have most of their knives with Aus steel or S30V but not many if any with one of those I mentioned, but i know the Leek will have S30v soon so a man can dream. OH and one more a Chris Reeve knife fixed blade besides the yarborough with wooden scale or wooden inserts or for them to make a more traditional knife.

I would buy a couple if.....Benchmade would make a spear point, clip point, or drop point Stryker instead of that funky tanto shaped version. I don't get it? Benchmade makes a spear point auto version but no manual version spear point? Come on BM, make me happy!:o

I'd like to see the "tactical" knife brands release some of their models with natural handle materials. I love the Axis lock and other modern features, but the Armyboy-wannabe / Mall-Ninja black plastic look is getting old.

Some are available on the customized market (Santa Fe Stone Works does great work with Spyderco knives, for instance) and some are available as Special Editions or Limited Productions (Benchmade 690, as one example), but the prices are sky-high.

It seems to me that Benchmade should be able to make a Griptillian with stainless handles and wood inserts without charging triple price.

Best Wishes,
Bob

You beat me to it. :)

G-10 comes in a variety of colors now, but other than a few Spydercos, everyone just uses black. Same with micarta.

Then there's stabilized wood; it's almost as tough as the man-made laminates, but so much nicer looking. I have a Timberline Wortac in "winewood" that always gets compliments, even from non-knife-knuts, for no reason other than the "exotic" wood scales.

Aluminum can be anodized in some really amazing colors. Benchmade has released a number of limited editions in colored aluminum, and they're gorgeous!

C'mon guys, think outside the (black) box!
