I'd like some feedback on the BM730

Does anyone have an opinion as to whether I should get the BM730 (plain blade) or BM730BT (Black-T coated blade). Since it's pretty much certain that the picture on BenchMade's site isn't correctly colored, does anyone have pictures of each model which are? It seems like the black blade might look better with some handle colors, and the plain blade with others. Maybe I'll have to get one of each

While we're on the subject, what do people think of the durability of BM's Black-T coating?

I don't have a 730 and haven't even handled one yet, but I will comment on the BT.

I haven't been overly impressed with it's durability. It looks good to my eye on some models, especially the 750 Pinnacle, but just clipping it to your pocket daily will wear on it. The top edges on my pinnacle are worn through after about 4 months of carry. It also scratches pretty easily. When it starts to look like crap, just disassemble your knife and scotchbrite it off as many have done here already. When my coating starts to look bad, I'll be doing the same.

I'm in agreement on the BT.Looks good when new but does not wear well.I'm sure it protects but there are limits to it.
I have a plain 730 and like it very much.IMHO

I have had both the plain and the coated. I bought the plain because I figured it would not show the scratches like my afck which is pretty ugly at this point. I do use it for utility work. After a slight mishap I had to buy another 730 and all I could get instantly is the black blade. I do like the looks better. I will probably buy another plain though. I will more than likely get the other axis locks at this point too.
