Not to hi-jack the thread, but it is interesting that there is nothing new under the sun -- this thread has gone from needing an axe, to making you own, to being careful about self-poisoning, to Otzi

Otzi's hair had traces of arsenic in it, showing he was either the smelter and maker of his axe, or was hanging around when it happened.

Please note I'm not saying you shouldn't do this -- I just cobbled together my own furnace, and I'm hoping someone will find traces of my work in my hair someday!
