idea for a knife lanyard

just got a new Bushcrafter SAK (finally! ) and wanted to add a small piece of firesteel to it and got to thinking would be
nice to have some tinder to go w/ that steel, so I gutted some 550 and strung some jute through (used thin wire to thread it)

finished product (there's ~ 10" of braided jute in the lanyard)

Smart! Did you soak the jute in paraffin first? That'd probably adversely impact the flexibility, of course, but might be worth considering maybe just on one end.
