Idea for a new line of Busses...

Would you like to see a series of Busses based on those from other cultures & times?

  • Hell yeah! Bring them on, Boss!

  • No, I much prefer that Jerry and crew continue to do their own thing.

INFI Smachet would be cool, but I've got 2 right now. Well, one bolo from WWI that is effectively a Smachet.

some infi throwing stars would be cool :D

But, I'd rather see more SFNO, ASH or FBM variants...

I'd like to see both a puukko and pugio in INFI. The idea that older designs don't have something to offer seems far fetched. I mean, the puukko has been in use in the far north for hundreds of years, unchanged except for upgrades to materials. That seems like it says something about the design. And the pugio served as the combat/utility sidearm for, what, six hundred years worth of Roman legionnaires? That too seems like a recommendation. I think this is a great idea, and not at all out of place. What about bolo styled blades and kukris? We're seeing those right now.

I'm on the fence with this. I prefer practical, useable blades. I think Busse already makes a blade for just about every use, so I can't see introducing some 800 year old (insert weird word here) from uzebekistan to take the place of an existing design. If there is a void to be filled (decent sized hatchet/axe) then by all means branch out. I'm out right against novelty or fantasy blades though.

May the Force one be with you!

Just to clarify...I'm not thinking in terms of novelty stuff, but the same quality hardcor tools with designs based on designs from other cultures/periods. Like someone said earlier--we already saw a Khuk and and some Bolos.

An INFI, Yoroi Toshi, armor piercer, would be coo.
You'd like that one, adrock!! ;)

Pretty sick looking. I was going to add: Anything japanese/asian would be cool... of course.

I like the Busse style also...but whatever they make I am sure will be in Busse style!

I would love to see a somewhat traditional looking tomahawk with integrel handle, micarta scales, BUSSE nuclear inovations (NBATHWK-nuclear battle hawk) 1/4 inch INFI. And!!!! a nuclear machete 1/8 inch INFI, 14 to 16 inch blade. HMMMM double cut, ivory micarta???

That poll was double-edged..why can't doing their own thing include stuff from other cultures and time periods?...the good stuff with their flair would rock out loud. I say let' em try something. I could see trying their hand at anything, but they already do something better than anyone..make good tough big blades that people love. I don't know if going traditional and making lighter weight keen edge slicers is their forte..I mean a lot of people are trying to produce that , but not many are successful doing the kinds of things that are Busse stock in trade. It's a toss up except for those hogs who don't want anything that isn't made of INFI, they'll take anything that is! :D--Joe
p.s. Having said that I ordered my first Busse tonight. I have never had one or seen one in person..I got it for slicing and general purpose always on me type working knife: Tank Buster. I only thank the INFI Gods they kept it up on the web site till I could score one too! Yahoo!! For king konging and wild swing and de-animation of tree limbs I got the Bark River Forrester and can't imagine being happier!

It's not about novelty blades, it's about designs that have evolved over centuries and stood the test of time because they work.

I've been waiting about 10 years/2 weeks for an infi khukuri and it appears I may get one before I'm too old to swing it.

After khukuri, Golok, please.:)

Then a francisca axe.

Also, the Busse crew can still have plenty of opportunity to improvise and add their spin to classic designs.

As long as it can have a practical use such as the KZ. I'm not one for these crazy looking freakazoid useless things you see at the malls.
