Idea for the next ESEE badge.

Anybody have suggestions on where to get them without paying as much as the product for shipping, or local places that usually carry them? Thanks
roger that idea-must be a fellow Coloradan,Coloradoite,Coloridian-whatever.

Yeah, but I have only lived here a couple years, it's nice in the summer, but i am sick of the snow:( Kills me that there aren't more places to buy gear out here, too many hippies, me thinks. Where you at?

I bought mine today at Woodcraft...there are three stores driving distance from me. I don't know of any other retailer that carries DMT products.

I love Colorado in the summer, lots of rock climbing and hiking, but winter is too long! And cold! I am a Cali kid, I needs my heat:D

Spenc, they come in three different grits (micron thingys??).
I got the FINE....I figure if I need one in an emergency, I won't have time nor care about an extra fine/pretty edge , although XFINE would be plenty good for a touch-up, I guess.

Wonder if you'll be like me and touch up your knife before you leave their parking lot:D

GET OUT OF MY MIND!

I have the fine on hold and I went to ask her which other grits she had but just told to not plan on closing early as I will see for myself!:D

Yeah I go to Specialty quite a bit, they are a huge maxpedition, 5.11, knife and gun shop. Pretty sure they don't carry ESEE, and they aren't always the cheapest. I go there to handle guns before I buy and surf they USED case. Just picked up the card at the woodcraft here it's a great store. The guy there and i got talking and he makes his own machetes out of leaf springs.

Hey Rayban-What did you use to attach the cards? And did you have to trim your RAT Pack card to fit?

Contact cement...apply to both sides, let dry, press together, it's on for good.

Yep, the card was a hair larger all the way around....I say line up the bottom of the card, there's more room to trim off at the top.

Yeah the wife kicked me off the computer so I used super glue, and found the card is 1/8 too wide and too tall, lined up the bottom, 1/16th off each side 1/8th off the top.

My wife was suppose to go to the gym after work so I was gonna play with it before leaving the parking lot but, she rushed me. That is a great store, I think I may be a frequent shopper there.

It fits inside an altoids tin real easy, and a small magnet will keep it stuck inside the lid!

yup - I love the woodcraft in KC, and rue the day I stopped when the wife was with me. keeping her supplied with turning tools and carving supplies hurt for a few years.
OTOH, the yellow "flexcut" brand honing compound they sell is good stuff!

Used 3M heavy duty spray contact cement-worked great.

I found that DMT also makes one in the same saize but much thinner for the guys that think it's too thick, it's called flexi-sharp, check it out. I think it might be something you could glue to the underside of an altoids tin, just an idea.

Print or add decal to the opposite side of this.

:thumbup:Great idea !! Waiting for son at the bus stop last night and took out my RP badge with card on backside and touched up my EDC RC-3 while waiting. That's why I look forward to reading the forum-great info.

By flexing it you could also sharpen convexes and hawkbills. :)

I was thinking of getting the smaller sheet and cementing it to my kydex sheath where it's folded, that would give it a bend and a flat spot to work with. Still debating I will take pics if I do.
