I think a framelock/flipper version of the 110 would be badass! Updating a classic to fit the times, what what? Cheerio, spit spot.
 
For the thumbstub, I'd maybe go with the Emerson type disk, always thought those would look good on a #110.

Giant sized #110 lockbacks are interesting, here's a Puma Emperor with roughly the same deminisions your thinking about:

Roughly the same size as a #110, but different in blade shape and frame heft.
