Doesn't offend me in the least bit. I understand what you're saying. Many times I don't enter a contest, because the prize is something I already have, or, it's something I don't feel I would use. It does kind of annoy me too, when someone that rarely posts shows up for a contest.
It is funny how you see people pop in on contests of GAWs that never ever post on this sub forum otherwise. I say it's a great idea. I've done 2 GAWs/contests and sent Trade some SS Cutlery Holders from Ikea no charge so hopefully I will be eligible![]()
WorldWood, I have a brand new BK5 Factory Sheath I'm willing to send you if you want to include it in your Give Away? If you would like it shoot me a pm with your info and I will send it out by Thursday...Ed
I will say that the reason I don't post much is because generally anything I would have to say has already been said, or I don't know enough about the topic so I just lurk around to learn.
This is the exact reason my first contest was for EVERYONE and i can appreciate this, but this time id like to give to those that have given back to me and the other members of the board
I think the idea is solid given you can get enough participants.
Goat turds at 20 yards via slingshot!
The only problem I see with this GAW concept is the type of people that give stuff away (ahem...) are typically the ones that shun publicity about the act. The ones most deserving might not be willing to enter.
But I've been wrong before...
