I've thought about this before, but what do you think? Five events demonstrating athleticism and primitivee living skills. I don't have many primitive skills, but I've always been fascinated by them. Read a lot, camped out of a car but that's about it(I'm a city boy)
. Anyway, here are some of the events I've thought of. They'd have to be narrowed down to 5 though.
1)Fire making against the clock
-Have a set amount of time to gather materials for a bow drill and then have at it against a timer.
2)Cross country run
-Simple enough, run from A to B over rough terain. Starting as a group of competitors or against the clock.
3)Archery compitition
-Primitive bows only, no fiberglass, no compound bows, no sights, ect., shooting at foam animal targets in real life situations.
4)Swim
-Swim a lake or river. Again, start as a group or against the clock
5)Snare building
- Like the fire making comptition, set time for gathering materials to build a WORKING snare against the clock.
6)Shelter building
-Same concept as fire and snare events. Build a debris hut against the clock
7)Wild edible gathering
-Gather a list of edibles know to be in the compitition area
That's all I can think of. What does everybody think?
