Ideal multieter thermocouple compatibility

Does any one know if the Ideal 61-360 multimeter is compatible with a thermocouple of any kind?

No, it isn't. It doesn't do the math necessary to convert to a temperature reading.
An inexpensive PID controller is the way to go.

craftsman makes a IR thermometer that acepts a thermocouple and i think that is what I will get

A PID is an electronic computer circuit the size of a cigarette pack. It reads the temperature, and controls an output for a relay or SSR. It can be used as a thermometer, or as an oven or forge control.
