This is the A2 heat treat test blade. I had it originally set up for scales but since it was a test piece I didn't feel like putting alot of effort into finishing it. What do you think of this wrap job? This is a double wrap 0f 550 cord. I went around the tang twice. I crazy glued the front and back first two rows of cord to keep them from getting loose. What would be a good placement of drilled holes in the tang for 550 cord wrapping a handle? Thanks

this is what I had on some blades I took to the Blade Show - simple and easy to repeat, but if pulled tight, stays on nice and snug. Not for everybody - but worked for me.

That wrap looks fine but if you want a realy nice grip I'll show you how to do this one at the meeting monday. Drill a hole center of the but end of the tang.

Great ideas guys. Larry, I'll check it out Monday. Dan G. thanks for the link. Dan K. nice looking wrap, I would like a bit more girth, fatter wrapping around the tang. I'm thinking cord wrapped knives would be a lesser expensive alternative for my customers.

Here's a rewrap of the same knife. I like this method, more hand filling. It's from the Running Dog Knife Co.

I'll talk to Larry about the rayskin. :) I did the flat wrap under the top wrap like the instructions said. I took the knife to work and all the guys liked it. They felt it could be a good seller. I hope, because I could make these in a day if need be. Gun blued or etched O1 would be tough looking also. :D
