Hello all,

I'm getting married this summer and need to pick up gifts for my 5 Groomsmen. Was thinking some kind of knife, tool or gadget somewhere in the $30 price range (maybe a little more if it is really cool). Any ideas on what to get and where to get it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Middle of the road multitool like Gerber or Leatherman , have it engraved with thier initials.
My Brother did that and every one of us in the wedding have something cool to remember that day by other than the typically boring tieclip.

For $30 maybe a nice Swiss Army Knife with their names engraved. I was just in a wedding and got an iPod Shuffle (the new little one) with my name on it and I've already gotten a lot of use out of it and the wedding was Saturday. They are going to cost closer to the $80 range though. :) For that you could also do a Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit. A Swiss Tool Spirit (the version ith scissors) engraved would be really nice and you might be able to get them in the $40-50 range i you shop around.

I say take a look at the different Victorinox models at felinevetshop, plenty to choose from and free shipping.

I'll second the Soldiers or Cadets from Felinevet.
If that isn't to your liking, Benchmade Benchmites are cool little knives that I have given out a few times, and everyone seems to love them. Roger at Knifeworks.com can laser engrave them also.

The Benchmade Benchmite II make great groomsmen gifts - and the back is engraveable if needed. (And a bargain for $22.95 @ New Graham Knives)

Check out Atwood's Prybaby. I've given them as gifts for the few years any every person has been really impressed.

I recommend getting the Victorinox Broker for your groomsmen.
It's like an SAK Classic, but all metal. Plus, there's a space for engraving each guy's initials.
I got married last year and bought Brokers and had them engraved for each of my groomsmen, but got the Victorinox Classic SD Sterling Barleycorn for my Best Man and had it engraved with his initials.

They were a big hit with all of them and they ALL still carry their SAKs on their keychains to this day.

Good luck and best wishes.

I like the multi-tool idea (and that's what I did). Main rationale is that this is something they're constantly going to be using, and I always thought that something with that kind of utility would be the best choice. Just my 2 cents.

Kershaw Leek or Centofante. They feel like expensive knives but can be had for about $38 IIRC.

Try the AG Russell 2.5 lockback. Titanium handles and VG-10 blade for $25

Hard to beat the materials, and its perfect for engraving

I stood up at a wedding of a friend who gave each of his groomsmen and his best man a CRKT K.I.S.S. While different folks would pick a different knife, I can't tell you the number of comments we all made on how great it was to get a blade instead of the usual garbage, i.e.: engraved tie clips, flasks, etc.

It makes you feel really great to stand up at a wedding for a man who understands his true friends............ :D

The reason I recommend a MT instead of a knife is , many people are not into carrying knives ( much less using them) like us , thus the present may sit unused and forgotten in the bottom of a drawer.

A MT has for more uses for the everyday person , as well as having a knife included. ;)

This is all too true. I gave my best man a Benchmade 330 Pardue Gent Folder as a gift and found out much later that he feels uncomfortable carrying a "weapon."

I ended up choosing Case Stockmans as gifts. Not going to be confused as 'weapons', have a classic look, good quality, and useful. They're a little more than you were looking for, but the idea worked well for our wedding.

I gave mine groomsmen SAKs. But that was 24 years ago and I can't remember what model.

I know its not a knife gift, but you might consider getting each of them a River Rock 2AA LED flashlight from Target and then having it engraved. I would think the black one would look best engraved.

It is a really nice LED flashlight for the price.

Their new River Rock K2 LED Lantern would be a great gift too ($20), but not sure if it can be engraved.
