Ideas for Groomsmen gifts??

I bought mine classic oldtimers. Pre china. My dad never carried a knife in his life but has carried that thing now for 2+ years and it's beat to hell. I just recently cleaned and sharpened it for him.

I would pick the Victorinox Alox Farmer. Or maybe the Vic Alox Pioneer or Cadet II. The regular Cadet is ok too but i prefer the Cadets II's second small blade to the Cadets nail file. Both the Cadets are on the slightly smaller 84mm frame and are even better for pocket carry. Either way all the Alox's are engrave-able.
I've been in three wedding parties and NEVER received anything as useful as a pocketknife, GREAT IDEA, kudos to you!

I would definately go with the SAK. Any one of the alox would be great. Since most people don't see an SAK as a weapon I see nothing wrong with it. Another idea would the SAK Swiss memory flight they look like a knife but only have a thumb drive. Me personally I would prefer the knife but thats just me.

If they are "outdoorsy" types consider a Buck 110. A timeless classic. Retail on them is about $30. I also like the multitool idea.

I plan on giving my groomsmen a leatherman micra. I figure it is something that is small enough for my groomsmen to have on them, yet still useful enough to merit carrying. I love 91mm SAKs and full size multitools but as others have mentioned not everyone is going to carry one. While I think a SAK soldier or climber or a LM Juice is perfectly pocketable others may not. The micra is small and something I am sure they will use.

The small Boker 1000 series in stainless would be nice.(1003) Right around your price range. You could easily get those engraved.
The rosewood version looks great too (1004) but more than your intiial budget.

This knife kinda stays in the executive/(no, i'm not gonna slice your face off) area.

Good call. Every time they go on clearance I buy a few Micras and keep them for gift giving occasions. Over years I have given out maybe a dozen, and most are being carried every day. Occasionally, I am thanked again by some recipients, among them several who had not previously carried any kind of knife-like object. A Micra is the sort of useful thing anyone can appreciate.

I ended up choosing Case Stockmans as gifts. Not going to be confused as 'weapons', have a classic look, good quality, and useful. They're a little more than you were looking for, but the idea worked well for our wedding.
I was once given a small Case peanut knife with bone handles as a groomsman gift. Natural handles = classy gift.

And few people would consider a small Case pocketknife to be a "weapon."

Good luck deciding,

I don't think you could go wrong with giving Case knives to the groomsmen. They have great name recognition, are well made and they won't break your budget. I gave my groomsmen Case mini trappers(kept one for myself as well :D ) and a medium stockman to the father of the bride and they were well received.

All great suggestions. Before reading any posts, I was going to recommend the Victorinox Cadet, which is what I prefer for EDC. Perfect size, slim, aluminum scales, engraving plate on back...and <$20. Can't be beat.

I wonder when Robert33USA is getting married since this thread
