Wondering if anyone knows what type of knife this is. My fiance has had it for years. It has a holder and both the knife and holder are marked Pakistan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any type of info you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to find out about it.

Well most, if not all, Pakistani knives are held in rather low esteem here. Since it has just a country of origin and not a maker stamp we won't be able to offer much of an ID aside from what you already know.

Some will say that it could be made from a decent steel 1080ish, but more will say it could just as easily and more likely be made from steel hubcaps... Regardless the heat treat will likely be Way off and not have much in the way of performance.

It seems to be the case that Chinese manufacturing jobs are being outsourced to pakistan and other countries that are poor enough to allow for the labor costs to be low enough for them to still turn a profit. But that discussion is best held for the politics subforum.

But I digress, there isn't much to be said aside from it being on the lower end of the spectrum, and if you can get it to take a decent edge, I wouldn't expect it to last very long.
Sorry if that isn't what you wanted to hear.

Use the forum to find a good quality knife. For under $50 you can get a svord mini or regular peasant and a utilitac, mora, opinel, or Plenty of others.
Pick your colors on the svord or get an engraved opinel for the misses and make it something special to her.

Welcome aboard!
