Identification on your EDC knife in case you lose it?

Any suggestions on how to put your telephone #,
or other contact information, on your EDC knife
in case you lose it, so that, if a good samaritan finds it,
it might be returned to you?

I had my wallet returned once
because I kept a note in it with my telephone #
and offered a reward if found and returned.

I don't want to use a dremel and permanently scratch it up.
Also, that would be a problem if I moved or my telephone # got changed?

All that I can think of is some kind of stick-on label or lanyard w/ label.

What have you seen or done that works?

I wouldn't bother; most people who find a pocket knife will keep it, even if they're the type to return a wallet. A new knife in someone's hand does funny things to the brain...
In addition, there's a good reason to NOT identify your knives. If you were to lose one, or if it were stolen, and somehow found its way into the possession of someone "unsavory," there's always a chance that person could use it for a more devious purpose. In that case, you don't want your name plastered all over the implement.

A small dogtag on a lanyard would work well. You could engrave it yourself or have it done at a shop. Locksmiths sell blank metal discs that can be stamped or engraved with text of your choosing.
