I have a Spyderco knife with an hour-glass shaped handle and a blade of approximately 4 inches. The blade is VG-10. Handle scales are black, smooth plastic material. I looked at the Spyderco knives currently on ebay and could not find a similar knife. Thanks for your help.;)

Is that the Shabira or Shariba? Something like that. I know Jill Jackson has one (or more).

I think he was just trying to be helpful. Rather than be snide about it, you could have offered some friendly advice on what protocol should be when using other people's photos when not in the context of a direct quote. That way, he may be more apt to do it properly next time.

Peter,

I'm sorry I offended you, and have removed the image from my post. I could not find a stock Spyderco photo of the Shabaria. Your pic was posted on a public forum, and I extended courtesy by linking to the original thread where the photo was clearly identified as yours.

Here you can use my picture and paste it all over the internet if you want! :)

In all likelihood, your images come up in a Google image search right now.

If it bothers you that much, put your contact and licensing information on your photos, or move them to a server that doesn't allow hotlinking.

It's not all that bad of a handle design and you can get an extended grip on it thanks to the flared butt, as shown here in this self pic I took last summer.

Edges are all chamfered and the flares make for a much better grip than what it looks like.
Maybe not the best grip but it is usable.

It isn't the best handle ever for sure, the Military has a much better.
Extended grip or not extended, just for one that comes readily to mind.
It's not as bad IMO as it looks like it would be, maybe for a large hand it would be worse than mine.
Doesn't really matter anyway they are extremely unlikely to ever be produced again and the ones left are collectors items and not many that own them are using them.
