Identify Nickel Silver Bar

I have a bar that I am 99% sure is nickel silver , but this 1% of doubt is bothering me . How do I identify it ?? I have another bar that I know is N.S and the surface color is different , it has a surface color somewhat almost like brass and the one in question has a light silver/gray color . I know it is not 416 or 303 . Doing a ding /punch test both the bar in question and the known one ding up the same . Is it possible there is a different amount of N.S. in each piece .

18% NS would appear nearly white till placed next to SS.
15% NS would be noticably more yellow, yet still "whiter"
than brass.
