Identify this knife

Got this old knife from a friend. Any ideas on what brand it is?

The blade shape and handle are extremely reminiscent of the Benchmade 940. The BM however, has a thumb stud rather than a hole and is an axis lock and not a button lock/auto.

There probably isnt a brand name to go along with this one.

That's exactly what I thought as well and I didn't find anything of a auto one ever being made it to mention its 440 steel which I've never seen on a BM

They do use 440c on a few products, but actually designate it at such and not the obfuscating 440 stainless.

Agreed. I've tried looking on everything to find a makers mark it's still a solid knife

A lot of the cheaper Chinese makers have been stamping "440" on blades for decades.

I'm glad everyone is on the same page. Chinese knife or whatever it's still pretty cool and a fun knife to just beat the hell out of at work
